While everyone is speculating on the whole MASK thing, can I just say that for me, this whole "Hall of Heroes" thing is really just a big let down. It's been said a few times over in this thread that repaints are a big cop-out. It's like one whole wave that doesn't even count as far as I'm concerned. Isn't this like a greatest hits CD from a band when you've already got all their albums?? Are you gonna buy it?
I know that this is one way that companies make money - repaints cost almost nothing to produce compared to new figs or models. Bandai does this non-stop with models and makes millions by fans buying kits they could just paint on their own if they had half the mind to do it. Hell, they release models in colors that never existed in the stories and they still sell out. I think Hasbro is counting on us buying into that whole "I've gotta catch 'em all" mentality that snookered 5 year olds outta their allowance to get every pikachu the presses could spit out. Unless these Heroes are some kind of wonderful, breath taking new versions (like Snake Eyes is re-deco'd to look just like a new version of Low Light or something magical like that), I'll save my money for some new molds or vehicles. pant pant pant. I've had my moment. Back to MASK or whatever... I am seriously chomping at the bit to pre-order the new single figs confirmed in this thread... gimme gimme gimme! |

Well there are a number of people wanting v2 SE to be rereleased in black, I wouldnt be surprised to see that one in there.
The repaints are kind of a 'cop-out' but it also gives some people coming in late to the line to get figures that would only be available (perhaps, depends on which characters are chosen) in the secondary market by that point. |

When can we realisticly see pictures of these new figures? Didn't hasbro say they were waiting for some special conventions to release new pics and prototypes?

I completely agree, and I voted for him too! reason for that, maybe his other version will be some sort of stealth tech clear version like the Zartan from a few years ago.
He is just super cool looking(in my opinion), and I like that he took on SS and SE, and didn't get destroyed. |

And when did hasbro say that?
ok, i've got to toss this out there. Hasbro isn't stupid. thjey've made some rather bad buisnes decisions here and there, but they are not stupid... I think. Unless I'm mistanke ( And PLEASE correct me if I am) The 25th annaversery line is not going to go anywhere, it's just being rechristioned A real american hero, Modern age, or something to that effect, right? That being the case, and the love fr the comic books and Animated series is so strong, I just don't see hasbro simply putting this line to bed after all these figures in favor of a movie toyline, or incorporating the movie line into this line, having the movie likenesses take over. Also, if you read the page carefully on the hasbro voting site, it specifily states " all 62 figures released through 2008" Which, at the very least, indicates to me that the line wil continue. I could be wrong, and they could be dumber than I think, but we will have to wait and see. Besides, damnit, I still want my Wet-Suit Figure. |

I have never heard of the C.O.P.S. figures being integrated character wise into the joe toy line. That's a new one for me.
I've grew up on the toys, and the cartoon, and have been collecting for over 8 years now! It's always fun to learn new fun facts about the line! Now, show me these C.O.P.S. figures who became Joes! I remember all the drama that popped up when everyone thought General Mayhem was actually Miles Mayhem from M.A.S.K.! Those were fun conversations. I think the term used then was "DETH OF TEH LINE!!!!!!!!!", but then again, whenever something changes or something new gets added to the line, you will always hear people shout "DETH OF TEH LINE!!", and I am surprised that this thread has gone this far without anyone shouting that. This makes me happy in the pants! No one has any real proof one way or the other, I mean, they could have lost the rights to use Tracker, so they spelled it TRAKKER instead. It would be cool for them to integrate other series into the Joe story though, and I for one would love to see that happen. That being said, I would like to see a Marissa figure in the toy line as well! That listing is very cool, that they confirmed a few more figures coming down the line for us! Very excited about the new Cobra Troops, and Flint in Cobra disguise. I also hope "HALL OF HEROES" isn't a fancy name for a repacked figure with a fancy paint job in an AFA Graded case! So, that's why they asked us about how we felt about them using AFA Graded stuff in the Joe line in that questionnaire! It cames back to bite us all in the ass! OH TEH NOES, DETH OF TEH LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and for the movie line, they said they were going to focus mainly on the movie figures and stuff during that time. I am pretty sure I read that on their site somewhere, or maybe it was from a past Q&A. I'm just glad the movie figures will be in the 25th/modern era/whatever fancy name people want to call them style! Wherever I saw it, they also said they would go back to the current line we have now after the movie stuff was over with. Very hip stuff! Last edited by Dream; 04-16-2008 at 03:01 AM.. |
