Well I never want to hear there is no space on the retail shelves. I was at ToysRUs today and they had this huge 250 PC Elite Force set on the shelf. This thing was massive about 3 ft by 3 ft or 9 sq ft. Granted it was kinda thin but a Flagg would've easily fit in that space. This set had like 4 or 5 vehicles and a bunch of figs and weapons. Again I say massively huge didn't have a camera phone on me but trust me it was huge. My ToysRUs is stocking Elite ops stuff like crazy. I think they believe it is Gi Joe because there is almost no Joe stuff.

They are the exclusive retailer of that brand I think. I think they even make it, though the mold is shared with some other companies because the same figures turn up in target brand toys, and even at big lots.

Oh! And a manager at TRU told me today taht she doesnt care if the comic packs are being opened and the doc stickers are missing. They just discount the toy if someone asks. Otherwise it sells like normal.

It would be nice to walk into an isle at TRU and see a few Flaggs or Terrordromes sitting there. But it will probably never happen. I guess we will have to settle for the cheap military playsets...lol...

TRU's "Elite Force" stuff isn't exactly "exclusive" to them. It's repackaged Power Team Elite and Chap Mei toys which are typically found at Big Lots and Kay Bee (Although, K-Mart has been selling Chap Mei toys lately too)
I think they use the "no space" reason as an excuse. Let's face it, whenever TRU does have big GI Joe vehicles, they sit on the shelves forever! Sigma 6 is currently doing it, before that was the Moray, then the MCC. Even the gold Rattler sat around for a few years |

yeah, i still see those Star Wars "exclusives" gathering dust on their shelves. what more if those were joes.
if they're gonna be that big, then TRU can have it as some sort of "Big Ticket" item. where they can have tags on the counter/shelves and ask some cute associate to pull one from the back of their storage. that's what their backroom is for, a place for big boxed items like butterscotch pony, etc.

Unfortunately I don't think it will ever happen. Our best chance and something we should be petitioning for is a modular playset. Something that has play value as a stand alone, but can also be combined to make a much larger playset. I would gladly settle for 1/4 of the TD knowing that if I bought 4 of them I could make a full playset. I believe that is the only chance we will ever see any of the larger playsets we are all clamoring for.
