I don't have the AWE, but I had no idea GI Joe figures could weigh so much as to make a vehicle bottom out.
And great comparison pics and info, Shogi. Thanks! Last edited by Snow Job; 04-08-2008 at 09:52 AM.. |

i was hoping shogi could weigh in on the comparison of quality as well to go with the excellent pictures. based on my memory, the new awe is made of softer plastic. the suspension is VERY soft. frankly, it doesn't take much to bottom out the awe.

Aren't a lot of toys made cheaper. I've always heard especially with escalating oil prices, that affects not just the shipment of toys but the quality of the plastics. Not sure if that's true or not.
But if it is, maybe explains why the alternative to different forms of plastics.

I put 3 Cobra Officers on my 2001 AWE Striker and the back bottoms out already. Also, the 2001 version already uses the retooled stuff from the Stargate one (such as the gun being moved further back and the dashboard).

The only difference I can see is how the edges of detail are softer, more rounded. Which is what happens after multiple uses of a mold or when you recast a mold from a pre-exsisting item (Like what Mattel did with the He-Man figures they re-released in 99-00 or so) |

how about how the plastic feels? more or less rigid or flexible? i realize that there are clear age differences in the peices.

Like I said man, it feels the same. Luckaly it's nowhere near the cheapness feeling that Funskool toys are or anything like that
