G.I. JOE vs. COBRA 3-3/4-inch Single Packs
(Approximate retail price $5.99; Ages 5 & up; Available: Now, with additional waves throughout the year) In 2008, Hasbro will launch seven waves of action figures -- featuring 40 figures in all -- throughout the year. The figures include a base stand featuring the character’s name and are designed with high levels of articulation to provide kids hours of interactive fun with their favorite G.I. JOE characters. The action figures are also packed in vintage 80s-style packaging. This was taken from the Hasbro G.I joe homepage. Now if im reading this right....they are going to release 40 new single carded figures over the 2008 year in 7 waves. Well we have 3 from wave 1 2008, 7 from wave 2 2008 (Major Bludd pushed back) and another 8 wave 3 2008 (due in May)....so over the next 4 waves (from may till december) they have to release the remaining 22. |

You're sorta right. You're not counting wave 5 though
Wave 1 2008 (Wave 5) - 5 new figures (Black Snake-Eyes, CG, IG Destro, Snow Job and Flash) Wave 2 2008 (Wave 6) - 3 new figures (Armor CC, Torpedo, RNR) Wave 3 2008 (Wave 7) - 7 new figures (Viper, CC, Baroness, TF Flint, Roadblock, Artic SE, PP Officer) Wave 4 2008 (Wave 8) - 6 new figures (Spirit, Duke W/ Flag, SE, Wild Bill, Hiss Driver) Singles- We have seen 23 different figures thus far (Mind you there are a good number of repaints in there) so we have 17 more single figures to see to reach the 40 singles Hasbro said were gonna be out. I'm gonna say 3-4 more waves of singles This is also counting the BAT we saw at Toy Fair and Major Bludd |

My experience with Star Wars has shown me that Hasbro is ALWAYS conservative on the numbers of their releases.
While we may only be due 7 waves this year, I'd bet solid money Hasbro will slip out a repaint/repack/greatest hits assortment around Christmas time to get extra toys on the shelf.

Yeah, it looks like Shogi accidentally got waves 3 and 4 mixed up.
