One of these variants recently sold on eBay for $150. I really wanted one, but I have never seen one at retail. So here is the unbelievable part. I placed FIVE orders on hasbrotoyshop for the max of two Tomax/Xamot packs per order. I got a total of ten in all, and I HIT THE JACKPOT!!! One of these is missing the logo on Tomax! I have included a pic to prove this is real. I wonder how widespread this error is? For me, it was 1 out of 10, not counting all the correct ones that I have seen in stores.

again, rasies the question, what is considered a variant vs. a production error? i would lump this with production error like the dinged battle armor c.c. helmet but thats just me. just my opinion but i see the term variant used way too often vs. production errors. i guess no one wants to say, 'yeah!, i found an error!'
i see plenty of these on the pegs, i'll be sure to check them next time i'm out. i've got 2 sets as is and they are both nromal.

It's not rarity that matters with variants in the GI Joe collecting world, it's the intent.
Yellow Stalker, Dolphin tat Shipwreck, Black Timber Snake Eyes, these all started off as factory specs that experienced a running change to a different factory spec. These should number in the hundreds or thousands. No paint on SE chest grenades, missing cobra logos, Amish Beard Snow Job, these might number in the tens to hundreds, and are generally no more interesting than a figure with a big blob of misplaced red paint on its torso. |

yawn!!! prod err!! Anything else is just a paint error. a Mistake. mistakes happen. Mistakes are generally bad and make the figure ugly. Rare, but ugly lol. And everyweek someone else posts a "new" "variant" like that turd that was selling a cobra trooper as a variant because the helmet was a little high up on the forehead. |

Only Xamot has a scar. It's how you're supposed to tell the brothers apart. |
