THIS GUY Seriously, I think I'm about done with it. Unlike many here, I don't actively collect toys and after this experience, I don't plan to anytime soon. I haven't had a single Joe find in many, many months. The last time I purchased a single fig at retail was November to be exact. I was really hitting it hard until early Feb and started tapering off. now I look when I go to get groceries and that's it (possibly when I go other places that might have them as well), I've never found a single fig at our 2 local TRUs...I have really lost the drive. What's funny is that I live in a large city...we have many stores around so one would think finding them wouldn't be a problem. Either they're not stocking them or there are local people buying everything that pops up the second it hits the shelves. Either way, it's past the point of annoying. You can find the comic packs everywhere but I haven't seen any of the newer figs at retail...ever. Wave 4 figs pop up from time to time but they are always the same figs. I've never seen wave 5 or 6 and buying online normally means paying double or triple retail...unless you buy the entire wave which means having figs you don't want and having to sell them...again, $$ spent and time involved selling one or two figs for next to no $$...another pain in the ass. Like I said, I'm not trying to be all doom and gloom but this is really the last straw for me...I think I'm finished with the line. If I happen to see one here or there I'll pick it up but with my current luck, I strongly doubt that's happening. |

Man. Just buy on ebay and save yourself the stress. It is what I do. You will pay 12 bucks (including tax) a figure on average. Which really isnt that bad considering the peace of mind you get. Like right now, I have every 25th figure released and haven't bought a joe retail in MONTHS!
Oh and with the price of gas you will probably save money this way... The great hunt just isnt worth it sometimes. |

I buy online out of necessity, since I'm in Korea and Hasbro doesn't ship product here except for the Army Post Exchanges in Seoul.
We only this week got three cases of wave 4 along with comic packs wave 1 & 2, and those are the first figures I've seen since December. |

I'm really not an avid collector, I dont plan on buying every single figure, I just get the ones I like and think that are cool. The way I see it, if you dont take it seriously and check whenever you go out to Target or whatever for something else, you'll see stuff. Its only when you're not paying attention do you find the best stuff.

I'm glad I pass a target, walmart and toys r us on the way home from work. It's frustrating at times, but when it's good, man is it good.

I have seen everything at retail at least once, but I think pre-ordering at BBTS is a far better method than ebay. Paying $12 something per figure for a $6 toy isn't saving gas money, it's paying a Fool's Tax.

I don't know what is your collecting preference but you could buy them open/loose from EvilBay and get them for very convenient prices.

ebay's a rip - they're twice as much for stuff you can find in most retail stores, and then they overcharge on shipping. i bought all of waves 1-4 at once, and still think i overpayed at $150 total. i'm not sure where you're from, but the better idea is to get further away from the cities - people in smaller areas (but still large enough to have a mall or tru) have waaay better hauls. i live 20 minutes from pittsburgh, 10 from robinson town center, and the further away i go they always have a better selection AND they always get the new stuff before here. it doesn't make logical sense, but it's a fact i've witnessed time and again.

Dont give up... You have to keep at Soldier.... I know how you feel.....just dont go everyday...and you will have better luck... try in the Mornings... on your Day off... I know its some work, but you will get them if you really try... goint to a TRU and Target at 2pm in the afternoon...or even at 7pm will get you nothing as either Scalpers or Collectors have got what they wanted.... For example, I have seen every wave at retail except for Wave 6, ought mine at Local Toy Shop, and Wave 2 Comic Packs, my wife finally found Wave 2 comic pack Destro and Breaker.....So Just kep trying have the girlfriend, freinds, or Family help too.....Thats how I got 2 SE with Black Timber....
