OMG that's hillarious!! (Do you watch "The Office"?)
I also am sick and tired of going to Walmart and to see that the only thing they have on the shelf is Wave 5! I HATE wave 5!!! It's like the company bought 20 boxes of that wave & only boght 1 of everything else! I can never get my hands on em'!

I sympathize, distribution has been odious. Although lately I've seen some upticks of newer waves at TRU, Target, & Wallyworld. If you want stuff from earlier waves you're screwed. Especially Red Ninjas and Officers. I really hope Hasbro starts mixing in joes from earlier waves in upcoming wave revisions.
But for now I'm not going to go out of my way to get joes. And I have to save up for Marauder John's wave 5

I feel for you man. Not finding joes sucks. I just dont get it. Back in the 80's, joes were not that difficult to find. There was less stores and I know that my parents didnt take me shopping daily to find what I wanted. Simply put, my collection was pretty nice for buying figures on occasion. There was never a hard to find Snake eyes or Duke. Now with ten times the amount of stores in the area figures are scarce. What gives??

You are right about that. I remember being a kid and toysrus was pegs full of joes.

It can get rough, but that's where a little research, schmoozing, networking, and well plain 'ol luck and patience comes in.
Research - find out when your local store gets stock in, and around the time they put things out. I know the stocking times of my local spots, and as a result have gotten just about everything I wanted at retail and then some.
Networking - I have friends and family in other states looking for stuff for me. Just give them a list/description and I'm sure they'll help out. In all, I have about 15 people in 3 states looking for me, and my Mother-In-Law is one of those This helps a LOT with army building. I just got a Fred/Scarface pack in from my Mother-In-Law.
Schmoozing- Get to know the workers, shoot the breeze with them, establish a rapport with them. Some might actually give you the heads up on stock. Some collectors (mainly the scalpers) might bribe, but I don't, and I've had a few hook me up.
Luck- Self explanatory, I've lucked up quite a few time, call it cheesy, but I've developed a kind of instinct about it. I get the feeling something is at a store, even late in the afternoon, I'll check it out...I've scored BOTH the Dreadnoks 2-Pack, AND the Crimson Twins at Wal-Mart at 7pm, just off a hunch.
Patience - Wait for the "hot" figures to cool off. Especially if you're going the Ebay route. call it petty, but personally, I like seeing those scalpers auctions with ridiculous prices go unbid on. Now with variants, that's a whole other story...I don't see PD Destro going for 20 bucks anytime soon
This might seem like a lot , but I personally REFUSE to buy off of eBay, especially some of the insane prices, so I'll gladly go through this process, and heck, it's fun...that rush of finding what you want after a long search is...heck, kinda addictive.
It can be disheartening though, I'll admit, seeing a lot of these guys with these insane hauls, and wondering, "When's gonna be my time?!" I felt that way especially about the two packs, coming in and being greeted by Buzzer, and the first wave of 2-Packs two months strait. And I STILL haven't gotten Torpedo, Rock and Roll, and BA Cobra Commander yet...but it's all a matter of time...
Keep at it!

Just my 2¬Ę.
Right now most stores are doing inventory. Stock is being counted before going to the floor. Some stores probably have the stuff in the back, but it has to be counted and/or put out to be counted.
Star Wars is doing the same thing. I saw all the new figures from the new Unleashed line about a month ago and now I haven't seen them since, nor any of my friends.
After this month, we should see an influx of new stuff.
last year when the 30th ann of SW was being released, no one found the new figures until about April. Then it hit and hit hard.
A little patience for now will get you some rewards.
heck, I live in a small podunk town in Central Il and I have already found 4 sets of wave 2 08 where as my friend in the big city haven't seen them yet.
Not to mention I only hit the local walmart or the town over once or twice a week and still get lucky.

Living in a big city seems to bring less luck. I live in the greater Los Angeles where there are literally 10 Targets, 10 WalMarts, maybe 5 KMarts and another 5 TRU's that are easily within 30 miles of where I live and it is real hard to find anything unless you get there right when the doors open (which I can't do since I get to work by 5 AM). This is what pushed me to finally start pre-ordering online (it's way easier, albeit a little more expensive than buying at retail and it is just less stressful). I think the problem in big cities like LA is that you have way more scalpers interested in the product than what you might have in a small town.

Helps to know when ur stores restock. In my area, Target's days are Mon or Tues & Thur or Friday. In the last month Wal-Mart & TRU have been putting new stuff out on Fridays and morning time is the best time to check. I've found everything so far(waves 1-6 singles, waves 1-3 comic packs and TRU exclusives), using that method.
