Besides nostalgia, for those of us that had them from '82 forward what do you feel constitutes 25th anniversary?
I see alot of talk of figures well past an 25 year period.figures not made and of recent origin needing to be made.
when i first heard of the 25th line being made I immediately thought of the entire 82 line, nothing beyond. while yes if they did them like that it would be alittle less exciting.yet where is the line drawn for 25th anniversary?
i know the 25th label is due off soon.so the line can go in any direction afterwards.
to me as far as I would of liked to see it go was about '88 as acceptable.
We've seen a good bit of whats ahead as far as who's left coming.
I would of liked seeing a few other earlier figs redone other then some.one for sure Blowtorch.
Overall I think the 25th done were great.it brought me back to Joe collecting after a 18 year layoff.
heres to hoping the line continues to be exciting and maybe after the 25th logo disappears we see some new figs that havent been done before.

For me, its iconic characters from my childhood, which seem to have grown up with me (kinda like TF: Binaltech/Alternators/MP)
One post 88 fig I want to see is the SAW Viper.
Not as some crappy second rate frankensteiner made form other 25th figs (cough cough Bludd cough cough), but as a 100% new sculpt based on the SAW's look in the comic.

First and foremost, to me 25th means the classics. It also means to me an attempt at characters Marvel introduced and might not have gotten to making. Anything new'd be ok, so long as it stayed with at least one of the comics, and/or the "create your own Joe/Cobra" like they did originally, too.

It means I am getting old. LOL
Seriously to me it means that maybe there will be some toys that were great when we were growing up making a come back with new articulation and slight new design.
I look at toy isles now and see mainly Wrestling and Power Rangers. It's just not the same anymore.
The Transformers alternators line was one of the greatest reinventions to come out. (start rant)Although they could have done a few more classic characters that we all know and love rather than making new ones up *i.e. Decepticharge* or single out original combiners.. *i.e. Swindle and Deadend*. (End Rant)
Oh and the making of Soundwave's Cassettes, but no Soundwave. Wish that the line would have kept going, but now I have Joe back in my life, so all is good in my toy universe.
Looking for one Danger at the Docks Exc.

It means that Me and my hobby reached a quarter of a century together lol.
But seriously, its the reliving of my youth. Memories of nothing but bliss that continue to make me happy in a world that has gone increasinly dark.
This line reminds me of the greatness that was the 80's. yeah kids nowadays grow up with cellphones and personal supercomputers. But boy do their toys suck.

yeah, i wish they would have released the original '82 line-up. because everybody has their own ideas about who's more important, who's cooler and who they want to own. but the original line, and then maybe the '83 line as well, because - well, there were only 3 cobras to be had from the first line. but to commemorate the 25th anniversary, it should have been with the originals that started it all.

It's a chance for me to buy back the figures I sold off on ebay some years back when I was in need of a way to buy a bunch of gear from Guitar Center. Also, I'm a toy addict - and without TF Alternators around and the 2002 He-Man line cancelled... ;D

i really disagree with the notion that it should have JSUT been the 82 line-up ~ visually and character wise theirs just not enough variety, plus a lot of the most iconic characters came from later on: duke, Roadblock the twins, StormShadow, Flint, etc.
overall, i think there choices have been generally solid on who they've done. I would have liked to see more comic-centric characters that never got a figure, but that's neither here-nor-there.
And i do hope the finish the Original 13 before it's done, they are pretty dang close (just 3 to go, right, ~ although i kinda hope they take another stab at Grunt...) The only ones i really see as "wastes" are some of the comic pack re-hashes.
My 25th Most Wanted List:
1. Tunnel Rat <-CHECK! 2. General Hawk (v2)<-CHECK! 3. Leatherneck <-CHECK(kinda...)
4. Jinx 5. Dusty <-CHECK! 6. Snow Serpent <-CHECK! 7. Tele-Viper <-CHECK(kinda...)
8. Falcon<-CHECK (kinda...) 9. Footloose <-CHECK! 10. Recondo <-CHECK!
9 down, 1 to go ~ but i really want a new Leatherneck and Falcon

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I bought Joes up through 94 (age 13), when they took a break. To me, 82-94 is the "original" line of figures - Battle Corps, DEF, Ninja Force, they're all the same to me. So I'm up for anything in that period to get revisited to give me a new take on some of my favorites - and my favorites did range from my first figures (Ace, Duke, Gung-Ho) to some of the last (Ice Cream Soldier, Alley Viper, Iceberg v2) - and the many figures I never got (I've almost doubled my GI Joe collection with the 25A).

I can understand your frustration with the Original 13.
I got into the battle way too late, in 87, I also watched the cartoon and have yet to read the comics, so my idea of the Joe verse is totally different from most of you. So I'm not bothered If Hasbro don't complete the orig 13.
I like the line for the nostalgia that brings and for the opportunity to grab figs at reasonable prices. I like the fact that they are grabbing figs from all areas and incorporating them into the releases.
I'm pretty happy with all of the figs minus of course the re-hashes but overall I will continue to support this line.
