All of this is just speculation. Hasbro will produce what it can market effectively. Whether kids or adults or both buy the product really means nothing to them. The bottom line is what matters. If collectors made up a larger portion of the market then I'm sure we'd see more of what the collector wants but no one knows what the numbers are. Hasbro revived the classic line with the 25th line so who knows if they'll come back to it or not.

Hasbro never really cared about the collector to begin with. Their primary target audience is children. Always has been, always will be.

If you go to yojoe.com, click on the pages for 2007, 2008, and 2009. Those are the 3 biggest pages on the site. These past three years they've put more figures the whole beloved 82-87 run put together. The fact that they keep making vehicle drivers that are updates of ARAH designs means they haven't abandoned you, you're just not the main focus. Just like the 12" collectors got the Classic Collection line during the ARAH days. Enough to keep them involved, but the focus was on the kids.

I agree with the past few posts.
I wouldn't say they abandoned the collectors, because they can still milk them for $. The kids, who are their biggest customers, will always be their main priority though. |
