Does anyone know where does this sword come about? I know it's Snake Eyes's sword, but I still do not know the origin of it. Anyone?

I think it's supposed to be the modern version of the sword that came with SE V2 in 1985: YOJOE.COM | Snake Eyes
I might be wrong but the first modern figure it came with was the POD DVD Battle Pack which was SE V37(2008). |

Looking at the straight blade, I think calling this a scimitar is a bit of a stretch. I would call it more a hybrid of a Chinese Kung Fu sword and a European Falchion. That nasty swept part at the end of the backside strengthens and adds weight to the "sweet spot" on the blade- making it particularly effective in chopping- like an axe. The hilt looks inspired by a Ninja Tanto but that handguard is straight fantasy. It sure looks nice, doesn't it?
The Falchion (I have a very nice one from Museum Replicas) is an imposing weapon, but it is harder to wield than a normal cut-n-thrust longsword or a Ninja blade. That sweep carries a lot of force out on the end, but your wrist and elbow pay for it. |
