Okay, so I called their 1-800 number to see if things are different and this Representative, Denise, checked the inventory (no parts available) and said the same thing, "Send the item back to us and we'll mail you a new one."
At this point, I might as well go back to the store (after the holidays because the lines are very long everywhere).

Worst comes to the worst: Buy a new one, take the labels out, then return that one as labels missing, and get the money back.

As far as not having replacement parts, as someone pointed out, it does cost Hasbro more to keep an odd number and selection of product in stock for replacements. It makes more fiscal sense to take the old product and send out a new one.

While we're on the subject, I placed my very first order from HTS last week. I ordered the Cobra 5 pack, Blowtorch, and Croc Master. As my free gift I selected the PP Crimson Guard, as it was the only Joe available. I received my order today, and wouldn't you know it, they screwed it up. I got the 5 pack, Croc Master and the PP Crimson Guard that I really didn't want. But Blowtorch somehow got turned into a set of Nerf missiles. I Emailed them tonight stating that I don't want to waste my money on return shipping on the missiles. In your previous experiences, what are my chances of getting them to send me Blowtorch and eating the cost on the missiles?

It takes them forever to refund a return so don't buy anything unless you really really want it. It took almost four to five months for me to get my money back and luckily I had proof of return shipment or else I would have been screwed.

My luck is hit/miss. Wave 13 firefly from Walmart, broke as soon as I opened it (hand snapped at peg...) contacted Hasbro, sent it in.. got a Viper back. I don't need another damn weird-wrist viper, and I wouldn't want a fixed one either! AND I HAVE YET TO SEE ANOTHER FIREFLY! Now, Star Wars comic 2-pack I got was missing some lightsaber accessories.. they sent new ones out ASAP, got em in under a week, nothing had to be sent to them.

Update- So even though they sent 2 mailing labels, I thought it was too much work and a gamble to mail the Night Raven back to Hasbro.
I decided to go to Toys R' Us buy a Night Raven (now $19.99) to get the stickers for the one I have. The one I bought at Toys R' Us had a 25th Snake Eyes (version 37?) with the Air Viper's head glued on it! (I didn't check the figure before leaving the store). I guess I bought someone else's returned item! Anyway, I just took the stickers out (since the Night Raven I have is in better shape than theirs) and returned it to Toys R' Us for a refund. I told the Customer Service that someone repacked this Night Raven and exchanged the figure for another one ( not my doing). I also told them the stickers were also missing (which was my doing). I got my money back anyway.
Knowing Toys R' Us, they'll probably put it back on the shelf despite what I said (instead of putting it on clearance for damaged/missing items).

Well here is my latest Hasbro return story that just actually finsihed like 15 mnutes ago. Its not a GI Joe item but Hasbro return related.
I bought an Ultimate Bumblebee M1 version in which it had issues where it didn't have a missile or the instructions. I called up Hasbro and as mentioned by others gave me the return the product deal. I was like hey I am not worried about the instructions I just want my missile and was like why pay all this money into shipping for a tiny missile and after talking to a supervisor they finally agreed.
So a couple days later I get 2 missiles. In this time however I have played more with the figure and when transformed into car mode it doesn't do it sounds and keeps making a grinding sound but when in robot mode it is fine. So I call them up and say hey I am a moron and should have just returned it in the first place. They say thats fine and ship me out a label in which in the end I get two labels on different days.
So I send back the Ultimate Bumblebee back and wait. 4 weeks go by and nothing. 5 weeks go by and nothing, 6 weeks and still nothing. According to their letter it says 4-6 weeks so I call back hasbro and ask them whats going on. They tell me thet the Canadian warehouse was closed for two weeks and that they actually don't have the figure. I am not impressed. So they then tell me they well send from California since they have some there and will call me back with a tracking number.
Week goes by and no phone call so I call back and they tell me no clue whats going on and get a supervisor. Supervisor apologizes and says one will be overnighted to me and they will call me back with tracking number that day. Two days go by and no phone call so now im frustrated and tell them that this is horrible customer srvice and that you should always try and exceed the customers expectations. Supervisors gets involved checks and says yes it has been sent out today and says will call me back again. This time someone calls me back and give me tracking number and I clarify with them that this will be overnighted to me by fedex and he says no it will be about 7 days to get to you.
I was pretty frustrated but just said ok.
The next day I get a bumblebee that was overnighted to me. I think to myself great it done with.
Today I get home and screwing around on computer and get a knock on the door. Its fed ex and was unsure what it could be. I look at the label and it says hasbro. Open it up and there is another Bumblebee.
I called hasbro and told them of their mistake and everything that happend previously, Looked at the customs paper work both signed by the same employee and told them they really need to get on the ball.
They told me to keep the item shipped to me in error.
I am now the owner of two new Bumblebees lol. On top of this they are both Ultimate Bumblebee M2 versions with flip down battle mask. Way nicer then the M1 version. Also still have the two original missiles that are worth a few bucks each.

My only experience with Hasbro customer service was when I bought a Force FX lightsaber from Walmart.com. It was a steal at $50. When I got it, there was a screw stripped out on the battery cover. Walmart.com seemed to be sold out of them, and I really wanted a new one and not my money back.
I called the Hasbro 800 number and got a return shipping label sent to me. I sent it in and got a new one several weeks later. The problem was that it was damaged during shipping. The box was crushed and the light saber blade was bent and kinked. LOL!
So, I called back and got a new shipping label sent to me. Each time that I had sent it in I sent a letter along with it explaining the situation. I also mentioned that I would like a replacement for the same item or another blue light saber. Mine was an Obi-wan. I really wanted the Anakin one but it was sold out at the time I bought it.
I finally got my light saber back for the second time, and it was the Anakin one that I wanted all along. It was just luck, but I'm glad it turned out the way it did.
