I'm totally with you on this.
We all know that Hasbro loves repaints. Hey they did this in the past with the ARAH line as well. For them it is a way to keep making money by re-using parts instead of having to make new molds for things. Now I'm all for repaints as long as they make sense. Hasbro on the other hand doesn't make any sense. They re-release characters with repainted outfits that never existed before now. I understand the whole concept of releasing something new and fresh, but how about doing that after you release re-paints that actually existed such as tan Clutch, tan Grunt, and red padded Grand-Slam. I'm sure we would have all liked to see more Tiger Force and Python Patrol repaints. There is no reason why we couldn't have gotten Tiger Force Dusty, Roadblock and Tripwire (ARAH colored version not the Walmart battle station one). How about a Python Patrol trooper using the Cobra Officer mold and webgear? We also saw a Python Patrol Tele-Viper which we never got. Instead we get stupid repaints of other characters. Now I love Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow as much as the next person, but some of the repainted outfits that Hasbro puts those characters in is rediculous. Hey while I'm on the subject of Tiger Force how come we didn't get a Skystriker figure included with the Tiger Rat jet? His whole body is made from Wild Weasel and his head was Thunder's. You mean to tell me that Hasbro couldn't repaint a Wild Weasel for us and toss on any head, like Ace's or Red Star's for example, just to give us a Tiger Force Skystriker figure? Instead they release yet another Wild Bill figure. Amazing! I'm all for a VAMP II as well as any other repaints that represent the original ARAH line.

That would be a pretty easy and sweet repaint for Hasbro to do.

This is exactly my point: a VAMP II is an easy repaint/retool for Hasbro to do with minimal effort on their part. AND it ties in with their POC plans IMO.

Almost all Sharcs here. I'd totally get VAMP II! Although a $25 price wpuld be jarring. I'd welcome a repaint this time, then they could easily sell me a Tiger Sting. Pack that with TF Bazooka, Recondo, or Dusty. |

I hear you there.
Skystriker would have been great, even with just a Flash helmet like Thunder has. I would have been disappointed if he was lacking Tiger Stripes like Wild Bill. Speaking of that A-hole Wild Bill, I am astonished that I have 4 identically molded releases of him, and a 5th, slightly different version exists. I think the UBP Steeler was a nifty homage that shows that the design team knows we'd be into tan Grunt and Clutch. The planned cancelled Tiger Force, Python Patrol, and Night Force repaints were also fun ways to repaint. Although the Python Officer warmed pegs so who knows how well they would have done. We groaned at repaints quite a bit back then, but since we're getting tons anyway, I'd gladly take some logical ones now. Quote:

Heck yeah, no reason at all this can't be released in the PoC "desert mission" line-up.
Just don't put any factory stickers on it so we have the option of putting classic ones on as well. Yeah, it should be a proper tan Clutch with better arms (rolled sleeves, not Duke arms).
