We're much bigger than them. Toy buying survival of the fittest I say.
If they want it, they (or their parents) will have to beat you first!

You know, I've never been comfortable with the term "collector" thrust upon me. For years I'd always get "So, you collect comics then?" An assumption that comes with being an adult "I must collect comics for some monetary value over all other things".
For years I've stated "I'm a comics Reader, not a collector." True I do have quite a few comics, and some that may command more money than the cover price (really though, I only sell comics I'll never read again to pair down my books for space), but every book is something I wanted to read and re-read again.
Now with toys it's even harder to explain, clearly a grown man can not simply buy toys, he must collect them! What defines a collector of toys? Having rare and hard to find toys still packaged? Buying high priced items with speculative value? I don't really know to be honest. If anything, I'd be prouder to admit that I buy toys and I play with the damn things! Right now I've got toys and comics all over the floor of my office, it looks like an alcoholic five year old resides in the room. I don't even keep my toys in the packaging (with the exception of my Bizarro Sealab 2021 set, only because I've not found a space to put them yet), last time I did, I gave everything away since I didn't have any use for toys I wasn't going to open.
I guess my point is I think it's weird that adults are typically labeled collectors as they collect toys and comics and whatever, while kids just play with toys or read comic books.

Kids dont care about the Star Wars Evolutions packs either.
I saw a SW evolution pack about the concept designs of Darth Vader Chewie and the Rebels, most kids could care less about the concept designs I think the only people who its going to appeal to are the adult collectors.

Store exclusives are for the RETAILER not the collector. These exclusives are sold ONLY in that store so as to attract the parents that shop for the kid that wants the item that can only be found in that store, therefore the store gets more traffic. As far as collectors v kids. If companies marketed exlclusively to collectors they would go out of business because it is a very small percentage of the people that buy toys.

Exclusives are a good deal. It's a figure and a vehicle for 10 bucks. Many parents would buy this for Little Elsa.

Or they'd have to charge an arm and a leg (looking at you Mattel and your MotU Classics) for the item.

Bah! Who cares? All I know is there's too much over-priced crap this year & most of it isn't selling.
