My point is that Hasbro keeps re-releasing vehicles (RAM cycle) and figures (Frostbite: previously seen as Snake Eyes from the 25th line) for the ROC line. I would like to see the ROC line, as unique to the film, if anything. POC looks as though they got creative. I just think they should keep the 25th line in it's universe and get more creative with the ROC line. Plus, certain figures don't fit some of the vehicles. And some of the Joe team vehicles (even though I luv'em) are from the VvV line. So, the problem with that is, the foot pegs inside the Rhino don't work with the figures. Just had to vent to vent a little. Thanx for reading.

The reason that they are putting 25th themed things in ROC and beyond is for people like me that think the line is utter rubbish so they get at least a few sales out of us.

Well they need something to get the kids and the collectors hooked. PoC is that. It modernizes gi joe for a generation of kids raised on mechas, intergalactic wizards, and japanese media.
Unlike VvV, it isn't a day glo joke. Franchises have to be reinvented and if they want to get kids into it you can't have the gi joe of 20 years ago. |

you said it w. the footpegs... the new WetSuit deluxe fig from Target has oversized pegs on the back... Maybe lets you integrate figures from all generations for cross-genre play (hasbro's answer, if confronted..)
I'm ok w. some repaints, and some new mixes, and some butchering of old vehicles ripped into new ones. It's a good mix, I'm happy, just keep the pegs universal per that line, not a mix. That's just sloppy.

The chinese mobile infantry would like to have a word with you about that post.
The short of it is that Hasbro has a very limited budget for tooling new molds. So the choice is, either two-thirds of vehicles are reissues or we get two-thirds less vehicles. |

Why shouldn't they reuse molds they already have? Keeps costs down and lets them spend more research and development time (and the associated money that is made from the old mold products) on new and better things like the new HISS, new VAMP, and whatever else is coming down the line.

I don't mind reissues and releases. They allow Hasbro to keep the line going with-out blowing the budget. As long as the line continues, the better chance we will see the items we want them to make.

It's like this.
You have a 1000 dollar molding budget (just an example for demonstrations sake). You need at least 4 vehicles to make out of that budget, and making 4 brand new molds will use up that 1000. You have molds existing that will cost 10 bucks each to adapt for the new style (foot pegs mostly, maybe some seating changes). Do you spend all 1000 on those 4 new molds or do you release old stuff that will bring in money and now you have 1500 to spend on new molds and can now make 6 new vehicles?

Yes...but inflate those numbers to actual...$5000 to $150,000 per mold...and multiple molds per vehicle. They need to use the mold until the molds break.
