Because I do not like the new look of the toys. I got back into Joes because I wanted the toys I had as a kid. I did not appreciate the movie and have no intention of finacially supporting something that I do not like. I don't believe in rewarding bad behavior or praising mediocrity, which is what I feel buying these toys would be. I also have no intention of starting my collection over again because Hasbro has decided to redesign the characters to fit the movie. (This is also why I am not buying the resolute figures) Having said that, I wish only the best for anyone who really enjoys the RoC line and the direction the brand is taking. I loved the resolute cartoon, but I am not going to start my collection over again every 2 or 3 years, which I did with Star Wars for a decade. I'm fine with not buying any and everything that has the G.I. Joe label slapped on it. The collection I have I really, really enjoy and I'm not going to spend the money on (what I believe to be) crap I don't really want.

There were plenty of ARAH ones from 82 to the end that I didn't buy and the same for 25th and ROC lines. It's all about your collection and your JOE universe. To be fair, alot of the ROC figures can travel between theirs and the 25th line fairly well, while others(anything with an accelerator suit) do not. I never cut my nose off to spite my face and I think it's good to have a slightly divergent JOE line.

I started collecting when RoC stuff came out, but now I'm getting rid of most of those things and sticking with 25th figures. I'm open togetting RoC-tagged figs, but they need to fit in my 25th 'verse. For instance, I think RoC Destro, Ninja Mercenary Stormy and PP Baroness are awesome and fit great alongside the 25th figs, so they stay.

I buy some Joes for the gear and weapons to make molds of and cast my own customs with. That being said there are a few great figures like Helix and ...um well I'm shore there's a few more.
As for Cobra I can't stand any of the new figures. They have been a total pass for me. Mind you I love most of the 25th repaints. Snow serpent and para viper are total wins. 2010 is a different story now I gotta lotta love for most of that stuff. Last edited by green_shirt; 12-03-2009 at 01:58 PM.. |

that problem solved itself with the temp price drop.
i didnt buy any until WM went $5.now with sales going on i have almost every roc figure. kmarts 2 for 1 really helped with all the first 3 waves. I was against it at first but after a couple movie viewings the new direction is fine with me. |

the paint app's seem to have gotten worse , dont like re-used molds with different names / paint
packaging in terrible .. dosent feel like gi joe to the whole reason i got back into the joes was the 25th cards that were exactly like the childhood for me i guess it was more nostalgia than anything and the new packaging looks so dreary and dark nothing about any of the RoC line inter.... wait i do love the way the eels look all black with the neon green if i can find him loose i will buy that

There are a lot of really neat toys in the line, but I'm not buying many because there's so much gray on the joes. Too many of the figures look the same. I think it was a terrible decision to put everyone in urban camo.
