Man, whoever does the new artwork for the cards needs to be fired...
I find it unbelievable how bad the artwork is for Wild Bill and the Hiss driver...it's looks like a crap school project drawn by an 8th grade child. And that Snake Eyes...yikes... Looks like I'll be getting two from this set (Spirit, Viper) and passing on the rest... |

The only one that hasn't been seen yet is Duke and he looks like all of the other new artwork that was made for this new line (Hawk, CG Fred, Scarface, and all of the others).
AGREED. I was looking at the silouttes (sp?) on the back of wave 6 last night....the poses are identical and Hisstank Driver has a HUGE head on that too. It seems when the company contracted to do artwork has reference pictures from the original artwork, they do a pretty good job replicating the original work.......but when they have to come up with new artwork for a new figure (ie, Zartan, Hisstank, Wild Bill, etc)....the artwork kinda lacks. They are definitely churning these things out....that could be why the quality is so poor. The thing that Ive noticed since the beginning of wave 1 is that there are anglular, rough crop marks all the way around the figures artwork and they are placed in front of the same, identical explosion. The originals all had unique explosions to each character. It is obvious they are rushing the artwork....but thats what happens when a new wave comes out every month! So, I guess we cant complain |

I mean I don't even post that much, but this artwork is so crappy I have to keep sharing my disappointment. Not liking artwork because it is a Devils Due outfits versus a repaint versus orignal characters etc. is one thing, but when BASIC anatomy and perspective are ignored - that is a problem. |

Whats crazy is if you look at thier portfolio....like the paintings and stuff....they are pretty damn amazing! I dont know if they put an intern on the GIJOE account or what.....but it seems like thier work is hit and miss. Dont know. Last edited by Wyo; 02-29-2008 at 01:40 PM.. |

Wow.....people are so dumb. $50 for the Snake Eyes and about the same for the Viper. You could get the whole lot for that doing a pre-order.
