The classic art of both the figures and the vehicles is a huge part of the appeal of the 25th anniversary collection, in my opinion.
I’m really hoping the Hasbro will package the figures in boxes resembling the originals. Do you think we be getting packaging like the HISS shown at the toy fair or will Hasbro keep the look (updated of course) of the original vehicles and go with box art? Do you care? Which one do you like? Box art or window display? Vote! Last edited by EMP Trooper; 02-20-2008 at 02:11 AM.. |

The packaging itself is part of what drew me to this line. They package the 25th line singles like the originals in the 80's, we should get the same treatment with the vehicles. Nothing would be sweeter than to see 10 to 15 cobra H.I.S.S's sitting on the shelf with a box cover featuring the tank in action with the explosion behind it.
IMO if we are getting classic packaged figures, we should get classic packaged vehicles... |

i don't think these require exact reproduction packaging. i'd actually prefer window boxes with retro artwork as a backdrop. i'd like to keep some of these new in box and still be able to see them. i'm just hoping they don't end up like some of the recent stuff with open boxes. take the crimson guard cat tank (red one).

First I would like to welcome you to the 'tank. I hope you enjoy your stay.
I'm sure the window box shown at Toy Fair was there to show us what they will look like. I think one of the Q & A's awhile back said that when they released vehicles that they would be in window boxes so you can see them. I open all my figures so honestly I like the window boxes because I like to compare paint applications and look for flaws in the toy.

I totally should have read the first post before voting I thought this was what we wanted the packaging to be, not what we thought Hasbro would do. I voted for box art. Looking at Transformers though and what we saw at Toy Fair, I'm pretty sure we'll be getting window boxes

I like the box art but window is cheaper... or is it? Plastic is getting more expensive, you know.

They could always do a compromise where they have a window box but when you turn it around it has the vintage artwork. They could put what is normally the back, picture of figure and vehicle, on the bottom with the file card inside the box with the blueprints/instructions. Sure it wouldn't be a true ARAH look but I think it would be nice and would go a long way to satisfying a lot of people on both sides.

Actually I think the poll is about what we want, or at least that is how I view it.

Shogi, you got it correct! I want to know what people like. I just edited my original post to reflect that. |
