That is the silliest thing I;ve heard all day! This guy was totally yanking your crank man. I call total b.s. on said manager. Without documentation of this so called "rule", then I would treat this as a complete joke! I used to do retail loss prevention part time and I can assure you that they have no interest in "flagging" or keeping a mugshot scrapbook in their little surveillance closet in the back of the store of toy collectors that pay for items that the store has for sale. This entire premise is preposterous and as I said before, this wreaks of B.S.!

I live Near San Jose, I'll go and talk to this guy and see if he says the same stuff or if it changes when I get a chance. If it's different than what he told you, he's full of shit.

-Target sees collectors and scalpers as one and the same. -ANY PERSON who comes into the store daily to look for a collectible IS IDENTIFIED BY SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS AS A SCALPER AND FLAGGED. THEY KEEP PICTURES OF THESE PEOPLE. -If a person asks for a item that is not on the shelves, the employee MUST REFUSE TO HELP THIS PERSON AS THAT PERSON HAS, BY ASKING FOR SAID ITEM, IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES AS A SCALPER. -Scalpers are, by buying joes or star wars or anything they deem collectible, then reselling them at double the price, STEALING MONEY FROM TARGET. -They will not stock collectible items of any sort, even if the pegs or shelves are empty of product for any amount of time and they have stock in the back, until the order to do so comes in from the corporate office. This can be a matter of weeks. -Any item in the store can be considered collectible. I am more than bothered by this. I left the store feeling like the only sane person left on earth. I've not read the rest of this thread yet. If someone else already said this, my bad. |
