I couldn't care less about being critical, but that's not what n3rf was doing, and you would get that if you'd actually pay attention. You have any other remarkably obtuse observations you'd care to share? |

Toy collecting is such serious business guys!
You kids really need to pop another Xanax and chill out. So what if Target is limiting how many toys you can buy, it's not that big a deal. These things are meant first and foremost for kids not thirty year olds who treat Comic Con like a pilgrimage to Mecca.

Oh, please. Do you know what's actually "sickening"? Your attitude. Do you really think anyone needs character advice from some stranger on the internet? Honestly, who are you? I'll tell you who you are: You're some guy in Arizona who, like the rest of us, spends his money to collect little pieces of plasic assembled and painted by women and children in Asian sweatshops. But you imagine yourself as being in a position to lecture someone over the perverse evils of *gasp* buying something from one retail giant and returning it to another. The horror! Why don't you climb down off your high horse of self-righteousness, stop pretending to be some kind of moral authority, and save the insincere lessons on "scruples"? And as for raising kids, why do you automatically assume everyone wants to do that? Personally, I want nothing to do with kids, so does that mean I can abuse return policies? Or should I worry about the "prison" sentence involved? EDIT: Oh, and I love that my willingness not to commit retail fraud makes me a high moral person. Priceless. What a joke. You're right, though. Some ppl have more to lose than others and I shouldn't expect everyone to have the same standards; your point is well taken. You reminded me of every reason why I usually hold my tongue when I read the actions/reactions of a very small niche on here. That moment of weakness is all me. PM me if you'd like to continue your hypocricy on giving lectures to strangers on the internet. There's enough pollution on here from public drivel. EDIT 2: Hmmm..edits aren't showing up...but I love how my willingness to not commit retail fraud makes me a person of high moral integrity...priceless. Last edited by n3rf; 02-26-2008 at 02:57 PM.. |

There Is No Way I'm Goin To Read 11 Pages, So Someone May Have Already Said This But, It Sounds Like The Manager Saw U As A "person" Who Falls Under Someone That Has Been Watched Comin In From Time To Time (no Problem There I Can See).
They Put Stuff Out When It Comes Out They Don't Leave Anything In The Back Unless The Aisle Is Full. How Does Any Store Leave Anything In The Back So Collectors Or Anyone Else For That Matter Can't Get. That Doesn't Make Sence! If I Was U Go Back And Get The Managers Name And Call The "big Office" And Tell Them What He Said! The Other Thing Cameras Don't Watch Collectors That Is A Load Of Sh!t. The Cameras Are For Thiefs I Have Had Customers That Work Head Of Those Cameras In The Target Stores They Don't Have Time To Watch A Collector Buyin Toys! But If Someone Is Stealin Them, Then They Are Watched! Report That Ahole!!! |

I wanted to get into this thread just because it has brought so much dam joy to my day! Thanks!
HAH! Asian sweat shops making my figures while the level of worth of human character and the right to raise a child according to one's own values! ALL IN ONE THREAD! Yes! on a toy site! Thank you! anyway, meanwhile...back at the Hall of Justice... Target..Walmart and the rest have no official policies on the amount of Toys you can by. Period. Unless stated in the Ad or on a official memo from Corp. You have unfortunantly run into a Manager or employee who has no life or social life or is just plain disgruntled and no takes his frustrations out on the paying customer. He has lost his "smile" when it comes to going to work or living life in general...and now "WE" will pay for his personal disapointment with himself. Look at him and laugh. Here's a fun thing to do. Call Target Corp.and get the name of the person in charge of product distribution on the national level. Then get their phone # and give em a ring. After you talk to them, waltz in to the Target and grab everything you want. Also, Target is connected by computer so you can see what is at every Target in your town by the others. btw, CompulsiveCollector and N3rf.. Please! Continue! I just grabbed another bag of popcorn! Round 2! Fight! =CobraCoffee

Thats the whole idea. If kids somehow get ahold of them, great. I have never been to comic-con. Is it fun? |

I had to join these forums just to add my 2 cents. If this was said before I apologize for the redundancy.
Also, I apologize for knowing this information since it makes me feel so lame. I, sadly, had to take a job at Target a few years ago doing the early morning replenishment. I learned a few things about Target in that time and more things since. Here I go. First off, the first post of this thread is total BS. There is no need to watch a person coming into a store that is paying for merchandise. It doesn't matter if he/she buys every Joe, Lego, Hot Wheels, Barbie, towel, shirt, hairbrush etc. As long as it's being paid for they can buy them. The only caveat is if they get a memo from Corporate or it is shown in the weekly ad that there is a Per Customer limit. If it isn't in writing, it's total BS. Secondly, YES - There is a policy in writing that can turn you back for excessive returns even if you have a receipt. Always keep your receipt or use a debit/credit cards so they can look up your receipt. Excessive returns can really hurt because products may have gone on clearance and they lost the chance of getting a profit with the original sale. Third, every night the DPCI system checks to see if an item is on the shelf. If not, it refers to what is in stock. If it's not in stock, a flag is raised and a request is sent to the local distribution center for more product. If it's in stock, a guy with my job will get a list of how many items need to go out to a certain location on the floor. Hence, the statement of not allowing anything to go out to an empty peg is again total BS. The only exception to this rule is if there is a release date on the item like a dvd, video game, or when Revenge of the Sith toys came out & had a shelf date. If the pegs are full, they DON'T have to put anymore on the shelf since there technically is no room for more product. However, if there is a team member available and they do a "may I help you" they can go check the stock using the DPCI. Yes, most Target toy department people are retards and don't want to help. If they aren't busy (I'm talking weekend afternoons or Black Friday) and nobody will help, talk to the manager. If the manager won't help, ask for the district/regional manager contact information. This should get you some results. Thankfully, another Target opened in my area last year and they are all totally cool. Sure, some of the managers don't like to help there. A few weeks ago I was returning 2 Star Wars Battle Packs that were $49.99 when I got them in November. When the chick at the returns saw that they had gone on clearance at 75% off. She call the MOD and they ended up refunded me the $37.49 difference for each one. I got them for $12.49 each. Logic says to look at dorks like us that fork over hard earned cash for nonsense is easy money. Heck, when I go into any Target, Wal Mart, Kmart, Kohls, Dollar General and so on to get normal purchases I always check out the toy aisle (unless my wife is with me) I end up spending more money than I intended if I find something I've been craving to get. The retail lifers who hate what they do are the ones who give us a hard time. So...bottom line...this is a crock of $hit |
