I call shenanigans on this one. There is no way a retail store that thrives on making a profit would prevent itself from making a profit.
I do know that Target has a policy for not holding a product for people but to not bring things out, as a former hardcore toyhunter, I know that when they told me they couldn't bring things out, it was because the pegs were currently full and had to wait until those sold and then they could replenish them. That's why it was always in my best interest as a hunter, to befriend those managing the toy aisle, because they could bring stuff out if they were in stock and know that I would more than likely buy them. But in my experience those are the only tims they couldn't put stuff out was either the pegs were full or there was a reset and things were buried under old stuff that had to still be put out first and didn't have enough employees to help them put stuff out (or they were employees and were not sure if they could put stuff out).

I think that you should contact Target's corporate offices and make an official complaint on this one. The manager could very well be a somewhat shady guy and would be better suited in a completely different line of work that doesn't involve customer satisfaction.

These folks who are being goofs are just abusing their power because they work at target and are to lazy to do anything.

I would call Customer Service and file a complaint. But first, make sure you have:
1. That particular Target's Store # 2. The manager you spoke with's name 3. The employee that was stocking the shelves name 4. The date(s) you were there to purchase figures The more ammo you have in your guns, the more something will happen. |

See if you can find a REgional Director's number, too (or whatever target calls the next level up from Store Manager). Also make sure you were actually talking to the Manger proper, and not just a Manager-On-Duty (ie, senior person working at the moment.)
Probably the best way to do that is to go to a nearby store, explain that you've a concern about a different store and ask for a customer feedback number. Unless things are very different in the States (and given that the U.S. is headed for a recession, I doubt it) any time a complaint reaches the district/regional manager they will act on it promptly, because they know the customer is quite upset. |

Well if they're sick of scalpers buying them all, why don't they order five times as many or even ten times as many. Don't they want to make money?

No joke, blackdragon, the hatefull little wench who works the toy department at my walmart dreads to see me come in every day and make her do her job, oh yeah they think ordering one case of joes at a time is sufficient even though they only last on the shelves two days tops. Mabee someone from this site going to toy fair can address the lack of distribution that is still a major issue, and why when we are buying up buttloads of figures that joe can't get more peg space.

Oh...what an e-mail to the Target corporate office would do... Someone is going to lose their job.
