Greetings 'Tankers!
I've held off purchasing any modern era variations of this character. He's never been a favorite of mine, not even a blip on my geek meter. He just looks dopey to me (yeah, i know... like Skyduster and Croc Master look real world legit). However, I am now looking to add a version of this guy to my collection. Which modern era Copperhead do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Although he has Roadblock's hands and therefore the same limitations, I like the comic pack version better than either the Python Patrol one or the forthcoming Walmart 2 pack one.

Well, all three versions of Copperhead look pretty cool, there is the classic green CH in the Shipwreck comic pack...if you are a purist, this is the one for you (crappy Roadblock hands though). The Python Patrol CH is a billion times better looking than the original, plus only the helmet is yellow (I prefer this version and it has improved hands). THe new CH coming out in the Walmart 2-pack with Gung Ho also looks very cool and is the most original looking of them all. He is identical mold-wise to the PP CH, but has a slightly more 'military' look with the drab green paint scheme...depending on how he looks in person, I may prefer this one, or I may just kitbash all of them to create my own perfect CH.

Thanks for the insight fellas!
I am a "selective purist". Some of my figures requires they have the look and feel of the character (ex: Flint 5 pack version is my fave as opposed to the single carded releases = Tiger Force). But then again, my numero uno release of Wild Bill is the TRU SRO version, he just looks so cool in the darker colors. WB comic pack version has had 1 foot in the spare parts/trade pile for a long time now. I swear, he even looks at me cross-eyed... he's outta here! I guess my pending Copperhead will be categorized in the latter. A better looking rendition than a goofy faithful one. The upcoming 2 pack may be my purchase. Besides a CH, I also get an updated Gung Ho. Thanks again :o)

My choice was to swap the lower arms of PP Copperhead onto the original. Still feels like the original Copper to me, but the toned down hands and 'armbands' make more sense than the bright green.
Otherwise, Copperhead was perfect out the gate. If the PP version was accurate to the original, I would've gotten a second one for my Patrol. |

Yes the Copperhead from the comic 2 pack, the lime green one. He always appeared that way to me and his first appaerance I loved and it stuck. He is a great looking figure. Copperhead + his vintage Water Moccasin was an awesome set back in the 80s! 2 aptly named snakes for the forces of Cobra.
