Went to the semi-newly opened [maybe 6months to a year] TRU a couple of cities down from me. Don't normaly go there since there is one by my work and I tend not to stray away from my normal routes.
However, I was sick of the selection at the Target, Ross, Marshalls, Waltmart, TRU that are on my routes, so I decided to venture out. ROC of stuff is same as every where else - no doctor, no flash, no helix, no pit commando. There was a Sgt. Stone, though; making it the second one I saw in two months. Store did have a selection of 25th/Modern Era, however. Nothing astounding, more remarkable that they exist, rather than anything rare. Except these two... I was tempted to pick them up because my first set of 5 is still MOC. But, ultimately, I passed on them because they were being sold at full price, and having bought my first set at Marshalls/Ross for half the price, there was just something which won't let me pay full price now. A lso, they were 3 and 4; had they been 4 and 5 [the beam cannon components], I would have picked them up no problem. Ross/Marshalls have sets 1 and 2, and I can live without the tank treads. Still, there is the Dusty and Quick Kick figures, even if I hate everything and anything relating to Serpentor. Maybe I'll pick them up after payday next week if they are still there. Would you guys have passed these up as well? On another note, anyone know anything about this vehicle? Specifically how may figures it holds? It be sweet if I can use as a Joe troop carrier for my green shirts. Last edited by laurenluna1977; 10-24-2009 at 04:24 PM.. |

Dusty w Straps thats a rare figure the 1st ones came w/o and the griping began then as they circulated more than the straps appeared more. |

I'd pass on the DVD packs as well...there's a new Dusty coming not to far off, so he's no longer a 'must have'. If you're not a Serpentor fan, there's nothing there that you need (the highlight of the set was the superior Serpentor....and, of course, Dusty).
The other set, I bought for Quick Kick...but I soon traded him off anyhow (really, a poorly articulated mess). The Snake Eyes is amazing...but he too we've seen better versions since (one, with the same sculpt yet better paint).

I don't blame you for passing it up at full price. I just recently started to get my set. Why I waited this long I couldn't tell you. I still need to find that Serpentor DVD set and of course the elusive best of 80s. I can't even remember what full price is. I haven't given up hope of finding it at Ross/Marshall's/TJ Maxx.

At Marshalls the packs ar $14.99 and at Ross $12.99. I don't know if we have TJ Maxx's any more. The one in my city closed down and I haven't seen any new ones since. We have Khols, but I don't know if they carry GI Joe toys |

I'd get them if you don't have them yet. The Snake Eyes is pretty accurate to the animation model and fairly articulated. The BAT is a must have. There's also a skeleton guy, I like weird figures like him.

In SoCal, full price is 24.99 with a sales tax of 8.75% to 9% depending on the city [cuz we just thought it was so cool to have the "Terminator" as our governor].

The Unimax LAV-25 only has the two working hatches, the troop compartment does NOT open.
Do yourself a favor and just buy the Bbi one at Smalljoes. |
