Yep. It's called a toy line.
No offense...but would you prefer that they make the same 4 figures over & over? |

I prefer the non-movie ROC figures. I'm not particularly fond of little plastic celebreties on my shelf. I like how they come with a ton of weapons.
And because there are very few characters in the movie, and we get pissed when we see "repaint #20 Snake Eyes". |

Well those characters also serve to please those who are still loving the classic GI Joe because then they get some characters they have been waiting on.

Of course "Civilian Clothes Snake Eyes" would be cool, but I think we've got all the Joes we can squeeze from the film. Everything else is just a bonus... |

Your opinion will not be very popular here.

Multiple figures of the same character, or issuing ones that weren't in the movie? I love Snake Eyes, but I can't take another version of him. They probably just want to give the Cobras a little more variety by re-releasing the Para-Viper (for example) with a new paint job. I can't say I agree with the variety of weapons. The bazooka thingies they have are pretty dumb, and are more reminiscent of the last waves of the original run of Hasbro figs. I don't play with them, so maybe a kid would find it cool; I don't. Of course, it is fun to launch the projectiles at the next cubicle at work (if I had a cubicle, that is). I'm looking forward to the Kamakura figure coming out. I just wonder how long Hasbro's gonna keep doing the movie packaging.
