My apologies if this has already been discussed or even officially explained by Hasbro in past q&as or at the convention, but...
I was looking at the Pursuit of Cobra figures and thinking how they seem to relate to the ARAH line in the same way the TF Classics 1.0 & 2.0 line relates to G1. I'm thinking of, for example, Jungle Assault Duke is to ARAH Duke as Classics 1.0 Optimus is to G1 Optimus. (or for you analogy dorks JA Duke:ARAH Duke::Classics OP:G1 OP) POC does not, to me, look like ROC (nor 25th, nor ME) They're... different. They're modern. They're more real world/less cartoony or comicy. They're loaded with accessories and sculpt detail. They're... bada$$! In other words, They're TF Classics! We've heard for awhile that the focus would be on ROC but after the initial movie clamor died down, they would shift (if memory serves) to something like a movie universe with ARAH influences. And that made sense b/c it seems to mirror Hasbro's TF strategy. But I assumed (and I think a lot of others did too) that meant figures that look more like the ROC Deep Six and WM packs... lots of repainted/retooled figures on ROC cards with some ME/ARAH homages. I didn't expect anything like the POC figures on display. So, I guess I'm asking: -Is this the read anybody else gets on Hasbro's strategy? -Does anybody else see the TF Classics/ POC similarities? -Looking ahead, do you expect more new molds? More ROC/25th repaints? -Do you think the realistic/modern style of POC figures like the jungle viper and Arctic Destro are here to stay until the 2nd movie? -Any guesses on if they'll continue to use the ROC cards or something special for POC? I'm hoping that, just as the most recent TF Universe/Classics 2.0 line was made of new, amazingly detailed molds updating G1 characters along with repaints from previous TF lines like Cybertron, the POC line will be many new realistic/moder molds like Arctic SE along with some 25th/ME/ROC repaints like the Elite Ice Viper. I could DEFINITELY get behind that...

I think this is a reasonable assessment of Hasbro's purpose with the line.
Whoah, NSA, that's one impressive desert unit you have there! |

I am also very happy to see more realistic styled figures (and some wacky ones too, but come on it IShasbro...) and I'm actually excited to get away from strict "RoC" figures (Most of the figs I picked up so far from RoC are either periphery figures or not in the movie at all).
Thanks BJ I need more Airbornes!!

So far it looks way too movie influenced, and aside from the Rage and Snow Cat the main line is still very ROC. The exclusives are cool but the main line leaves a lot to be desired in my book.

im pretty sure all these figures that were shown at joecon are coming from a yet to be announced cartoon series that will be coming out next year. a cartoon followup to the movie joe universe. probably a mix between resolute and the movie.

With that in mind, yeah, I guess I could see them putting these figures out then creating a TV show (on the new station?) to support it.

Zartan does look like a tv character. Even though he's clearly Raptor. He appears to be some kind of Shaman/wizard type. Weird, I said that in another post they look exactly alike.
I think a cartoon series is coming. The movie was too successful and well, kids are hooked. |

Check the Joe-Con coverage. It's the new line that picks up where RoC left off. Most of us think that it's going to be a new cartoon, probably either in or similar to the RoC universe, using the same primary characters and a few others.
