There was, however, another thread on here where a Tanker spoke with a representative from Hasbro and the representative said that the Flagg was Top Secret. The representative went on to say that she would probably get in trouble for just saying that much. There might actually be something to this. I'm not saying it's going to happen, I'm just saying it's possible. This isn't the first time we're hearing rumors of this.
Even with the BMF for Star Wars, there was a -lot- more serious rumormongering and behind-the-scenes talk going on before it was officially unveiled. Hasbro kept it secret a lot longer than they usually manage to (mostly by vehemently denying it in Q&As), but it still "leaked" and rumors were running rampant long before its' release. Personally, I think if there was an upcoming Flagg that was "top secret" then Hasbro would probably have the computer systems that the CSRs are connected to unable to pull up any information at all....not a screen that says "top secret." I would lend the absolute, tiniest, most minuscule fraction of a chance that there is some truth behind all this. If only because I can imagine Hasbro is well aware of the mind-boggling buzz it would create on fan-boards. Unfortunately that buzz doesn't necessarily translate into sales. For example, I think releasing a new Flagg would be awesome, but I wouldn't buy it. It's simply too big, and likely too expensive. |

I'd buy it. I'd buy 2 if I can.

If the Flagg tooling is available and in good shape it shouldn't be that expensive ($250-$300). The engineering has been done, an online pre order situation wouldn't need fancy packaging.

It doesn't exist. Lost a long time ago in, of all things, a shipwreck (at least that's how I heard they lost it).

How many people would like to spend between $500 - $700 for this Flagg? beside, space is another issue. Honestly, I don't see the $$$ flow into Hasbro for this toy, and neither Hasbro. Unless this piece is selling for sub $300.00.

Speculation only, but we'd see something more in the medium range like the whale or x-19 (Phantom?) before something bigger than the original Joe base, beyond the pit that is.

Wonder if you could fit a WHALE into the RHINO-sized box? Heck, I wouldn't even mind a repainted/slightly retooled Shark 9000 Last edited by Jmacq1; 08-10-2009 at 01:00 PM.. |
