Yup. And as I'm finding out right now, in my climate, which goes from cold, wet and snowy to dry as a desert (almost) and can hit temps of 113 in the summers, they also become fragile and degrade like o-rings do. And that's across the board, 25th-50th. Modern figures look nice...

You are absolutely right of course, but the fact that so many ARAH figures HAVE withstood 20 years in an attic, basement, or shed is a testament to the differences in overall quality. Last edited by Sataninjaku; 03-28-2020 at 02:50 PM.. |

Hahaha, climate controlled isn't really a thing here! But in seriousness, I really couldn't imagine how much worse it'd have been if they'd have actually been treated like toys. As it stands, my moderns spend the bulk of their time in a box, and typically only come out for photos when I've finished a new build, and I typically don't move joints around too much. Over the past couple of days I have been more than normal in trying to decide who gets the axe for the "create a cobra" thread. I've lost some feet, 1 hand, and a shitload of forearms, and that's before I even began to attempt disassembly.

Yeah man, the area I live in is rural AF. Most of the houses here are 30-50 years old, and it's not uncommon to see some that were built during the gold rush and just maintained through the years (and many, many more of those out in fields in ruins.) Add to that California's astronomical energy costs and climate control isn't really a feasibility. Poor insulation, wood heat, and good ol' fashioned opening the window are the norm here. I of course have AC myself, but I use it very sparingly. Idyllic in many respects, archaic in many others.

Beachhead-50th edition from Eagles Nest 3-pack (though I’m still partial to the 25th comic packs head)
Duke- Use Ret Kwinn's torso and legs of your choice and make your own. Recondo- POC Recondo Flint- SDCC exclusive Danger at the Docks Snake Eyes- Retaliation Ultimate for min ninja, PoC/50th for Commando Crazy Legs (30th is the only modern era)- that’s the one Low Light- PoC/50th is the only choice, and a good one General Hawk- 30th and 50th Hawk, as I try to avoid 25th parts. Lifeline (30th is the only modern era)- copy Airtight (30th is the only modern era)- copy Law and Order Joeclub FSS L+O is more color accurate. Tunnel Rat- this depends on preference, but for cartoon accuracy, the 25th comic pack is the way to go; for better build, Renegades, or even the Club “Final 12” Tiger Force version Sci Fi (30th is the only modern era)-copy Sky Dive- POC SD Shipwreck- 2nd 25th 5-pack. The 50th is nice for parts galore!!! I made a no paint outback with this figure using this and a 25th OB. Snow Job- the PoC/50th is a nice build with better accessories Alpine- I like the FSS one better due to the parts. I ultimately made my own. Heavy Duty-50th two pack no doubt Outback- see Shipwreck Cobra Alley Viper- defense of cobra island pack Firefly- Ret 3 pack Destro- 50th 3 pack Eagles Nest Cobra Commander- Retaliation Ultimatel Cobra Viper- PoC/ 50th Sinister allies 2 pack Bat- classic 25th Rock Viper- PoC/ 50th 3 pack Cobra Trooper- PoC/30th/50th Techno Viper- 30th Iron Grenadier-50th two pack Sinister Allies Eel- 50th DATD Snow Serpent- 25th SAW Viper- 50th 3 pack Jungle Viper- only the one, I think Data Viper- same Heat Viper- 50th 2 pack

Got a MIB Snarler Cycle and the Desert Rockslide. I got the Rockslide just for the version of Dusty since it hearkens back to the original version. The Snarler Cycle I reacquired as I just think it's a cool vehicle and really like Roll Bar.

If you get a chance, get the updated Sci Fi Figure. It is absolute perfection .
