I'm in the boat of things are ok as long as bills are taken care of. Then the toys are not a target. If things get tight financially or she's stressed (usually one brings on the other) then the plastic men are an easy target and get the biggest of the salvo. Good thing she's pretty easy going and doesn't get that way often. If I keep the house clean and help her with things while she's in school and working then I'm off the hook. Luckily she's not a big witch during that time of the month either so the little guys (joes) are safe. She does kid me about my men though... I guess as long as she knows where I'm at then I'm ok. No fast women or cheap booze, and I'm not out late doing who knows what then I'm safe. Although I do have a schedule of when it's safe to go to the store and toy aisle. Recently I had a bout with my depression and I bought some joes with no complaint.

That's the plan. If I were a wiser man, I would have left them in the Barbie aisle.

My wife is actually pretty cool about it...she was amazed that I still have my 100 figs from the 80s/90s and even calls me from the Joe isle. Plus its the cheapest of my hobbies...guns and car parts are far more expensive...

Damn, I didn't know that there were so many in the same boat as I am... My wife tolerates it in the "this is one of the things that I didn't like about you, but I married the whole package, so I guess I either have to change it or deal with it" kind of way...

Mine in no way supports my collection. She hates it at a level the likes of which have never been seen. she despises GI Joe. I am never to display my collection or talk about it to her. She wants me to grow up. as soon as I'm gone and dead she'll most likely sell everything.

Mine tolerates it so long as my collection is kept out of sight. She'd rather I didn't buy at all, but she knows this is what I do. Today I was at Toys R Us/Babys R Us with her while she was looking for some baby clothes. I wander over to the Joe display and find Helix and Crimson Viper. I grab them and hold onto them as we walk around the store. Then, when it's clear she's decided not to get the clothes she's picked up I get "the look." The Joes go back on the shelf and we both walk out with nothing.

BTW, mikevoltz, my son is the same age as yours, so I'm sure you guys play a lot, like my son and I do. I have actually been coming in late for work the past few weeks (no biggie though, I'm an Events Producer, and coming in on time isn't something my line of works notices) because it's summer here, and my son wakes me up at 630am every day to play, and we play for about 3 to 4 hours straight, until my wife starts giving me the look. |

My wife is fine as long as it doesn't spill out of my toy room... then she gets annoyed. Otherwise I have the coolest wife in the world.
