Not sure what weapon you're referring too.

The DTC figures came with many quality weapon sculpts, several of which either had protruding pegs, or holes which might accommodate those pegs to allow dual side-by-side weapons as an added play feature? If that was the intended play feature, that doesn’t make sense to me. The other possibility is that many parts were cancelled/cost factored out to make the accessories cheaper, but I doubt that’s the case. Because many of the DTC weapons were based on real weapons, I sure would like to know which shotgun in real life was the inspiration for this sculpt. Maybe if somebody else knows, they can tell us. Of course, it’s possible that it’s a make believe shotgun which wasn’t directly based upon an existing model.

Hmm. Maybe the pegs are for it to store on something?

I found the answer from a friend.

At that time there were various sizes of plugs and plug ports in almost all of the weapons and vehicles. The largest of the port size is on Over Kill v6 & 7's back. The adapter plugs for those were hexagon shaped. If you unplug Over Kill's arm, that's another plug port size. The weapon in the middle of this pic can plug into Over Kill and the B.A.T.s.
The weapons pictured above, were meant to form hybrid weapons that could attach to Over Kill (V6 & 7), and B.A.T. v5 (akav16) Sky B.A.T. (v1), as well as some others. Over Kill and the B.A.T.s can be taken apart at the arms, waste, and torso. The weapon in the middle of the pic, for example, can plug into those sockets of the androids as a battlefield adaptability feature.
