Hey guys, I was curious if anyone has any idea what the value is on the 1985 Ferret Mail Away. I believe it was first offered as a mail away in 1988. I got mine in 1989; and still have it. I was recently offered a trade for it, but I’m not sure if I want to part with. Some have said they go for quite a bit on E-Bay. Any ideas?

They used to only be marginally more than the standard dark blue, though I see a recent MISbag sold for a BO accepted on an initial asking price of $329... ouch, prices are getting nuts. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say if yours is nice and complete, probably 100ish+ somewhere, so if you're trading, get something good.

Keep your ferret. Mail away Vehicles were produced in much lower numbers then retail. If it's complete and nice shape I'd say easily $150 or more. Lower production equals higher cost. You just don't see them pop up as much anymore. 10 years ago they weren't as expensive but most people who have this stuff are not coming off of it. |

If I had or if I pick up a rare item and think about selling it, I have to ask myself "Will I ever want this again?" Because, the with odds of finding one or the money it would cost, I probably won't ever get it again.

That’s a good point. I have had it since I was a kid and have a lot of sentimental attachment to it; but the offer I was made is nuts and for something I have always wanted.

I'd say this would be the best reason of all to keep it. I have nothing left from my childhood myself, aside from reacquiring my original SNES by pure chance. Despite being next to worthless in terms of money, it's still my most valuable possession. Yours has the added perk of being rare.
Mind if I ask what the proposed trade is?
