Let's see how many can name five ROC figures and 1 vehicle that they had/have to buy as well as five and one that they either have no intention of buying or plan to return/trade:
My five "must haves": 1. Desert Ambush Scarlett: just a great looking all around figure. 2. Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes: okay, sure, the trenchcoat is pretty restrictive but this is still a great take on ol' SE 3. Elite Viper: even though the lack of paint apps on his head is a strike against, this if I was to troop build ROC he'd be my first choice. 4. Paris Pursuit Storm Shadow: though I like the Ninja Merc version almost as much, the better poseability and weapons make him my ROC SS of choice. 5. The Doctor tops my list of the ones I'm looking for - PP Baroness, too. [TRU Firefly is a favorite but he's ROC in name only and I wanted to try to stick w/ actual movie figures.] My top vehicle is the Scarab/Steel Crusher. Shame about the rocket launcher and the fact that it only seats two, but its still fun. The Motor/Nitro-Viper is a plus, too. My five "not buying" and/or "regrets": 1. Helix: I know, heresy! If I find one I'd trade it for a black mask/red sigil Blueshirt. If the head sculpt is okay, maybe I'd switch hair and use her with either Baroness or Cover Girl. 2. Eels: I guess folks are buying them, because I haven't seen all that many. Just an all around boring figure, imo. 3. Ponytail Scarlett: Guess I missed my chance to buy a second Desert Scarlett and head swap, but the head sculpt is just that bad. 4. Cobra Commander: Yeah, I bought one, but only for custom fodder. Even if you like the new look for whatever reason, the hole in the foehead is a fatal flaw. In LA at least, he's already clogging pegs in a way that Wave 4 & 8 CC never did. 5. Ice Viper: More heresy, but with those new Snow Serpents on the way I lost the last reason I had for picking any of these up. [Cover Girl was a reluctant buy...gonna see about fixing her face up. I'm not a great fan of Ninja Commando Snake-Eyes, either. Both Heavy Dutys are below par, but the Reactive Armor is the better of the two.] Although I'm not buying either the Pit or the Night Raven, the Snake Trax is an affordable vehicle that I've had in hand several times and keep putting back. |

im not a fan of the vehicles although i did buy the steel crusher and im still on the fence about it weather i like it or not. its cool but its not at the same time.
the pit commando is way over rated, the figure itself is very lame to me, i think its cool he comes with so many weapons and accessories but most of them are junk anyway in my opinion, beside the machine gun and steel brigade helmet i dont think i would of bought him. so far the TRU firefly and TRU barbeque are prolly my favorite figs. i want the elite viper and found him but didnt buy him so i cant really comment on him although i did think he looked cool along with the eel. the flash figure was a major let down, his body is just odd, he looked way cooler in the package. but i do like his head and helmet. the paris pursuit SE is terrible, i bought him after hearing how cool he is and even when i first found him i thought he was garbage but thought i would give him a chance and i just dont like him, he is too bland and i dont like the whole trench coat look but to each his own.

The Target deluxe figures with the small vehicles and the Walmart sets with the mini playsets are the only things I am interested at this point

For me, I have been reeeeallly picky on which figures I buy in the ROC line because some of them look really bad. Seriously, I spend about 5 minutes on each figure multiple times trying to decide what I like and don't like about him or her. So far I have purchased (and don't regret it all) in the RoC line:
TRU Exclusive BBQ (Never liked the Orange version but this guy is AWESOME!) Sgt. Stone (Only got this guy because he kind of reminds me of Flint in movie drab) Elite Viper Desert Scarlett Ice Viper TRU Exclusive Firefly (I LOVE THIS FIREFLY!) Crimson Neo-Viper Helix Deep Six aka Torpedo Storm Shadow Snake Eyes Ice Dagger w/Frostbit vehicle Cobra Gunship vehicle (I replaced the Firefly pilot with an extra 25th Wild Weasal I have. Much better!) That's it! I am looking for PP Snake Eyes with Timber, but he's still elusive for me. I saw him once on release day back in June, but I have not seen him since. Other than that, I feel like I am currently complete on the figures I want that are currently out. Nice! Last edited by wolfrunner74; 07-27-2009 at 12:00 AM.. |

I just bought an Ice Viper, one of the few figured I've been excited about since the start of the ROC press, and I'm disappointed to say that it's a garbage figure.
He can't hold any of the gear he comes with, can barely move his arms, and his legs don't have much of a range either. Pretty much unposeable. A nice looking figure in concept, but the execution leaves quite a lot to be desired. |

I'm only picking up figures that in my mind blend in with the 25th versions. Figures like Ice Viper, Pit Commando, Shipwreck and any other repaints of 25th Figures and vehicles I'll pick up. I don't want any figures based on an actors likeness and the designs of the vipers are horrible IMO so I'll stay away from those as well.
The movie vehicles all took a couple of steps back in detail and design so repaints/re-do's like the Ferret, Firebat and Snow Cat are the only vehicles I'll pick up. Basically a vintage or 25th repaint I will get, but the Tonka/Playskool like vehicles and VVV/Spytroop repaints I will pass on.
