Okay, as most know the Joe line was pretty much killed after the VvsV line when Walmart stopped carrying Joes which caused other retailers to follow.
And following lines of Joe (S6 and 25th's) have been given a token amount of space at best. But I had hoped that with a movie line Walmart would give Joe the same all out space that ROTF, or SW or other movie lines have recently recieved. Now as I hit toy stores looking for some of the movie line I find TRU with a good amount, Target having everything from figures (both sets) to all sizes of vehicles to the kiddie crap, the full line, and Walmart......1 pallet display. 1 pallet display. 2 sides figures...and mostly Snake Eyes, and Baroness at that. 1 side SE play gear 1 side Mole Pods, Armadillos, Ferrets and the ski thing. That's it. No aisle display no end caps, NOTHING. Anybody else seeing this at their Walmarts? How the hell are they getting away with this? |

Yeah barely a presence. One walmart here has no vehicles, and 2 rows of figs, another has the pallet and a couple rows of figs in the back of the figure isle.
Target FTW right now, but if TRU gets a really cool looking front setup that'll be nice.

I doubt they are trying to bury it as such. More likely they'll have plenty of RoC stuff out when they do their reset...they just aren't working with it right away like Target and TRU seem to be.

Maybe Walmart doesn't like ROC and wants the Modern Era stuff.

I'm gonna say no
Reason being is that they have to HAVE the figures BEFORE they can bury them. |

My local Wal-mart only had 1 end cap with 6 boxes of figures (none of the ones I'm looking for). They also had the Smaller vehicles but that's it. I honestly don't get it. Why would the largest big box store do this? Strange.............

well exclusives or not i am not going to wal-mart anymore. they obviously have no love for the franchise or its merch and really just seem like they don't wanna carry boys toys at all unless its bakugan or power rangers. So I for one will be no longer goin' there not even for their exclusives...which honestly i dont like much and only want monkey wrench to make an invasion usa chuck norris anyways.

Maybe they want Transformers to have maximum space (haphazardly strewn throughout the aisle) while it's still going strong before sacrificing shelf space early for what will likely be another successful line. The one pallet display was pretty weak considering Walmarts typically had a solid, though small 25th section.
I've found it strange that Hasbro allowed both films to be released in one summer, seems as though they'll be competing with themselves in holiday toy sales. Then again, the combined success will likely take a huge chunk from whatever the newest trendy anime type thing is that keeps popping up every year. |
