Yesterday, i was taking apart some figures, to see if the parts fit together.
One of the figures was a Cobra Shock Trooper, and when i took the legs off, the plastic broke on both upper legs! No worries, as i had another one, but the exact same thing happened, although only with one of the legs. I haven't experienced this before on modern figures. Has anyone had the same problem with the Shock Troopers? Or did i maybe get them from someone, who has had them stored at a wrong temperature or something? |

I had a similar experience with the 25th arctic snake eyes. Torso just crumbling when I was gonna use a part from it. I opened another and the same thing. You know, both the shock trooper and the arctic snake eyes had a dark blue, I wonder if that combination of ink/plastic has some bearing on it. I've had them stored well so I wouldn't think that had anything to do with it.

I wanted to use the legs for customs and all of the upper legs where it hooks into the ball snapped off. I tried on 3 of the figures. I left the last one alone since I know it will also snap. I thought it was just my batch. I have taken the legs off of pretty much every Joe figure and these are the only ones to do this. I would avoid taking the legs off of any POC Shock Trooper. This seems to be a defect.

The only time an upper leg broke on me was a POC Shock trooper leg. I totally agree that it must be that color plastic or something like that.

25th comic IG Destro. Bought 2 loose off of eBay to use the legs for a custom. Pin to secure the lower legs broke off on both of them just from removing them. Gave up on that one.

Hi, it happened to me, just taking the vest off, grabbed hold of the legs & snapped off at the top, then the peg broke off as I took off the lower leg. If you want to save them, use 50th Lt Falcon's upper legs, same colour on both!

Alright, so it's not just me getting a bad batch it seems. There must be something wrong in general with the plastic on the Shock Troopers legs then.
Now i'm kind of curious if it's both the PoC and the 50th versions. Regardless, this should serve as a warning for anyone wanting to pull the legs off their Shock Troopers. |

As mentioned, the color on the arctic Snake Eyes is pretty much the same, so i wonder if it's the specific color that's problematic.

The only other figure that utilizes the same mold as the Shock Troopers legs is the Steel Brigade Delta figure.
Has anyone had any issues with those? |
