On the Resolute body, I could do without the shoulder pads, unless than can correctly color cast those arm ball joint pieces to match. But if it ups production costs, they can let it be. Looking at it closely now, I'd even take this original paint scheme as is*. [*The production costs will be a huge item point I will continually bring up in this thread. At the end of this thread, I'd like to see a final idea that is optimal in both low production costs and high consumer//collector appeal. I really want to see smart ideas and (near) realistic expections, rather than unlimited wishful thinking.] So would most of you accept the Resolute Scarlett body with a new head (or perhaps the Renegades head or even Retalation Lady Jaye head) for a 40th set? I'd be happy with it, if it makes the sets more feasible. |

I do like Lance858's custom Scarlett head.

Yes, that one's the best I've seen to date. I'm proud of stuff I do, but y'all will likely never see my Resolute Scarlett as long as Lance858's pics exist.

I’m confused by your thread title “last request” and then you mention goals and showed pictures of 5 packs with “Ultimate” versions of those original 5 packs contents.
Can you clarify what this is all about?

If the rest of the box set had all the properly-executed "ultimates" I would live with it if they just repainted Resolute Scarlett with a new head, but making those two tweaks would put me in the "nothing to complain about" camp rather than the "I'll buy it but I have a few nits to pick" camp.

What if someone at Hasbro can be convinced into a redux re-release of the original 2007 box sets with the same characters, but instead repackage with the later updated figures are the last few years to mark the 40th Anniversary? I would have thought a 6” 1985 Snake Eyes loaded out would be the no-brainer for this milestone, but it seems 6” Joes isn’t very desirable right now (a subject for another thread), so maybe save the development costs? The sets could use the same packaging as before, if development of new packaging costs more than the actual previous packaging costs (maybe just change silver to gold to help avoid confusion. If the original packaging costs too much, and the later ToysRus style boxes cost less, I personally wouldn’t mind. My photos show that the newer (usually bigger) figures can be jammed into those original placeholders. Scarlett is the only figure of the 10 that I feel needs and deserves a new sculpt before it’s all said and done. I’m surprised we’ve never seen anything in the Concept Case displays shown over the years, leading me to believe that no such development ever existed. Therefore getting my want will likely require a bunch of re-releases and repaints to offset the new mold. These box sets offer 9 re-releases and repaints—more than what is typically done for a figure wave. Repaints (=more costs) would be necessary to complete the set for Duke and Roadblock. Duke can be a “simple” repaint of the 50th Flint body using the POC Duke head (no new molds needed). Similarly, Roadblock can use the Retaliation Roadblock body and the new head that was used for the FSS Tiger Force Roadblock (originally meant for an unreleased Roadblock). I am banking that these two figures in the classic colors were already planned and developed by the stalled movie-related push, and that even paint masters could already exist. The Cobra pack could be all straight up releases as shown in my photos—most still sought after by collectors. Baroness may be the exception—I think the pack would still sell through given the other 4. But maybe a swap of that head with the SDCC Transformers Ravager pack would seal the deal. Hasbro can do the math for the best option. I’m thinking this whole thing would be a sweet deal for everyone, even if the MSRP were set to favor Hasbro. I want to know how others feel though. Am I crazy, or does this totally not excite your brains?? **Turtle Master and Ozzie may have convinced me to accept the Resolute Scarlett figure with a new head in lieu of a new body sculpt, leaving only a new head sculpt/mold as new tooling. |

Oh, OK. Thanks for the explanation.
Yes, I’d buy the Joe set for sure. For the Cobra set the SDCC Baroness Head would be a good idea and might entice me to buy that set. (I don’t need the CC or Destro but SS could be for parts.

The box sets look great, I would be at least 2 apiece if modern releases looked like these.

As for CC, wishful thinking wants to have him recast in the darker hooded color, but my HasbroCostHead says no. Last, would people be more interested in the CC and CT combos from the SDCC Missle set? I put these on the table now since technically they'd be straight up re-issues. |

I didn't think of this before, but Destro could like have improved knees: same casts but harder plastic than those previous rubbery things. That's got to make the deal sweeter, yes.
