First, boiling water is your friend. This is something all modern era Joe collectors ought to know, but considering the soft plastic, warped limbs and stuck joints we're currently experiencing, it's especially important with these 50th figures and worth repeating. Instead of wrenching on that stuck joint or manually trying to straighten Destro's gimpy knees, slow down before you break that POS and soak it in some boiling water or run the offending joint under the hot tap for a bit (boiling works better though). I just freed a SDCC DATD Flint's stuck shoulder, un-crooked Leatherneck's crooked torso and straightened the legs of all my 3-pack figures with this method. Just remember to not boil the toys themselves. Boil the water, poor that boiling water into a non-metallic bowl, insert figures. This new plastic softens up fast, so it doesn't even take a minute. If you think boiling water is a hassle, give breaking a joint a try. Better still, just buy an electric kettle. It'll come in handy for other things besides your toy OCD too. Cup o' Noodles, instant oatmeal, grits...tea, even. |

Vallejo paints, particularly the gamer's range, are great for touch ups. It has a specially designed resin component that makes it more durable than other acrylic paints. When I get in the mood I plan on fixing some of the sloppy bits like Leatherneck' hair and the purple on the heat viper.
Whoever gets to that first, please share any color matches you find! |

Got my DATD set in today and I think my flint may be ill from the trip over from TRU Hq. His skin stone has kind of a greenish hue very disappointed as he was the main reason for me buying the set.

Anyone hasn't tried this don't dunk gloss black hands, and be weary of dark colors!! Dark colors can haze, and I've made DG shipwreck hands finish wrinkle...I just dip for a few seconds in a cup..using this method I've been able to completely disassemble just about any figure, even removing knee pins. |

I think it is because I also do Warhammer and I want to use as much of the supplies as I can, if not I would surely be a half-asser as well.

I just touched up my leatherNECk's hair, hat emblem w/ black andcollar medallions/zipper with gold. Also gave him a 25th airborne BP which I painted dark green. He's so awesome now!

For those who don't want to wait for the water to boil, use a hair dryer. I've fixed many stuck joints and warped limbs that way.

I really dislike it when my joints are stuck.
