50th reissue is pretty good as well, but the best is the Ret Ult IMO. If you have that one all others fall behind.

Figures at retail? Hmm, must be an American phenomenon. Well, we had them in the 80s, but modern Joes? No luck.

I think I have three plus about 8 of various flavors of v54 SE (and quite a few 50th Arashikage SS). I have trouble passing on them if I see a good price. Its a weird compulsion.

As a kid growing up in a rural state, and a desolate part of that rural state, I actually got pretty lucky. There was a small variety store that routinely stocked the 80s joes. Saying that, it took me a couple years to find a Breaker V1/1.5 and I bought him at a drug store for the then extortionist price of 4.99. I didn't get all the joes but I got most of the ones I wanted. Now vehicle sets, much harder to find. Modern era, I wasn't collecting joes until 2012, so I remember seeing Shadow Tracker, Lifeline and others in TRU, as well as the 25th line other places, and thinking "neat" and walking right past them. Once I started collecting, I never saw a lot of different figures in the wild, I still have never acquired a Cobra Combat Ninja. I bought cases on line. And, then found most of the Retaliation line at 5 Below and other discount stores like Ollies and Tuesday Morning for 3-5 dollars. |

Taking it waaaayyyy back... I spent a whole year looking for the original Torpedo. He’s still one of my favorites. I have had zero issues finding modern figures at the time of release... but that’s because I’m a hardcore hunter.

Night Creeper Leader... DIC version. I was so convinced that he existed (don't know why). I looked for years. Then the BC orange version came out, and it was pretty cool too.
