In theory, absolutely. But they would have to pick the right builds and colors to avoid peg warmers. They'd screw it up. :(

Yes! They built a DG on the corner of my street this past summer.

I'd buy any modern Joe stuff, so OF COURSE!!!
Plus, the 1st line was fantastic, even better quality than the retail Retaliation stuff that was out at the time. |

since I travel for my job, I probably visited 100 DG when these were selling and 1/2 the time they were sold out. i did end up with about 40 or 50 all together and have used them for troops and customs. So without a doubt, I would.

Absolutely! You could use all existing parts to make some great figures. What I would want to see:
1. Duke, Ultimate 1984 style( POC head, they have all the parts ) 2. Roadblock, Ultimate 1984( the Club TF RB repainted ) 3. Recondo, Ultimate 1984( POC head with painted hair, and all the right parts ) 4. Major Bludd, Modern 5. Cobra Officer, POC style 6. Tele-Viper, Concept Case For the repaint wave, turn the Joes into Tiger Force, the Cobra Officer into the Stinger Driver, and the Major Bludd and Tele-Viper into Python Patrol figures. |

I don’t even care if they are generic nameless figs. Bring em!

I love that Duke idea. Even the alternate paint scheme would look good and could be used for basic military figures. Not sure about the Baroness, since we've already gotten several colors of that mold. A different named Cobra might be better here. Maybe Major Bludd done with more recent parts, although I'm not 100% sure of the best build.
Grunt and the Cobra trooper are great and would sell out first everywhere since they are army-builders. Just change the lower legs from DG Shipwreck to some combat boots with bloused pants. If you aren't doing SS & SE, just forget the ninjas. I don't think more of that same Jinx mold would sell as well as the others you've suggested and that Red Ninja/Black Ninja was also done ad nauseam during the Retaliation line. If you want a female Joe character how about an olive drab Scarlett built with the 25th 5-pack Lady Jaye or the 50th Shooter body. Repaint could be tan, and with head swaps you can have an endless amount of female characters in basic uniforms. Then have her vs. another Cobra army-builder. How about a POC Viper in black/silver? Quote:
So my suggestions are:
Duke: Renegades Duke head on Danger at the Docks body with a bandolier and rifle. Two color schemes are: Tan shirt with Green pants and Green shirt with Tan pants versus Baroness: This would be the standard 50th Baroness figure (or possibly the SDCC "Ravage" head sculpt). Baroness comes with a rifle. The Two color schemes are: Blue and Red. Some may be worried that a female character would become a peg warmer, but with Baroness being a leading character and available in her blue (comic book) and red (crimson guard) colors, I think they would sell very well. Grunt: Pick a head sculpt on the DG Shipwreck body with 25th Grunt webgear, helmet and rifle. The Two color schemes are: light green shirt & pants and tan shirt & pants. Major army builder potential here. versus: Cobra: Use the same DG Cobra head & body with helmet, webgear and rifle. The Two color schemes are: Tan uniform with brown webgear and Grey uniform with black webgear. Again major army builder potential and the grey version gives a 50th update to the Stinger Driver. Jinx: I think offering Jinx gives the fans and kids (new collectors) both a female character AND a (ever so popular) ninja. This would be the Retaliation Jinx masked head & body with her staff weapon. The two color schemes are: solid red and solid white. Some may balk that this makes the "exclusive" versions less exclusive, but those action figures come with the alternate head. Plus they would be on a different card. versus Cobra Ninja: Use the Retaliation ninja figure with sash and sword. The Two color schemes are solid red w/ black sash and solid black w/ red sash. I think a variety such as this would be great for army building (except maybe the Baroness and Jinx figures, which I still think would sell well - these wouldn't be any different than how much of non-army builders Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander are). Jason
