2 thickness mm works, 4mm is even thicker. ----- For 3.75 figures, 3x5 width and Length. 4x6 width length for bigger figs. 5x7 for the largest like Hulk. For Marvel legends 6"inchers 5x8 works for standard figs, continue larger for larger figs as needed etc. |

I've thought about using zip bags for mine, too, but I recently found something else I like pretty well right now, although I'm thinking of switching yet again for those little clear clam-shell thingies I see on eBay all the time...they seem like they'd be way more practical than what I do...
I used to keep mine in clear tackle boxes, with little sections squared-off under each figure's feet to hold their respective weapons, but the more I thought about it, the less I liked the idea of the figures rattling around loose like they did. I know the plastic probably wouldn't create any rubs or scuffing...I just didn't like how they moved around too much in each little compartment. And besides, the plastic of the tackle box itself seemed to yellow or get cloudy in a few years, and I was never sure if that might be doing anything to the plastic or paint of the figures... So I tried the little zip bags you can get at any craft store or section, and I still keep weapons and accessories in them, but I noticed that they seem to give the figures a slight film if you keep them in there for any length of time...perhaps that's why you guys are using acid-free bags... So my solution, at least for now, has been to get these foam envelopes I discovered at Lowe's...I had been buying those clear Hefty totes with the white clip-on lids, much like what Cross Country has (They almost look identical, actually...), and in that same section of the store, I found these foam envelopes of varying sizes...they're meant for wrapping dishes, glasses, and breakables when moving, and I just think they're great for loose figures. I really don't know if they're considered acid-free (probably not), but I sure am happy with them. The only drawback, though is you can't really tell which figure is wrapped-up; you have to hold it up to the light to see who it might be, and even then, sometimes you can't tell. Then you have to unwrap them, like you're untucking a burrito. (lol) I thought of maybe taping them closed with blank labels that I can write their identifying info on, but I kind like the notion of having those clam-shell containers where I can just peer in the totes and see who I'm looking at. But then again, in those little clam-shells, they'd be rattling around again like they did in the tackle boxes, but I guess it's not much different than the vintage bubbles on the cardbacks. I'll try to do some pics and show you guys what I'm talking about...

The only thing with these envelopes is, when you wrap them and put them in the totes, they’re really puffy and take up a lot of room, but they sure do protect the figures...

Edit: Something like this might be the best with with an archival bag system. Black knocks out light and it is made of fluted polyproylene, which is rather archival (at least miles better than cardboard). The only issue is that is just deep enough, so the tops of the bags will be pushed down a bit. https://www.maxprosupplies.com/800ct...ard-box-black/ Last edited by Adventure Fun; 03-31-2019 at 11:52 PM.. |

Isn’t being trapped in small air spaces (ziplocks) a contributor to yellowing?
