While I admit I probably won't be collecting these figures for the line itself, I do think people are being too hard on them. I picked up a few figures for customs and because I thought they would fit in well with the Modern Era stuff and I am surprised at how well they are constructed and the accessories are awesome... (minus the launchers.. but hey its for the kids)
I'm not saying buy stuff you don't want just to buy it, but maybe if you looked a little closer you would see they are not all that different and some of them could work with the Modern era collection.
I agree that Hasbro could keep the Modern Era line going as well, but time will tell I suppose.

I was the same way at first...but after reading every review and seeing what these figures come with in terms of accessories, how they are well integrated with the modern line. It's awesome.
Also, the fact that Hasbro now are bringing in some old school classics, retooled for the ROC line, ROC is no longer just movie figures/vehicles.
I know how you feel, I was the same way...but seeing where this line is heading (totally opposite of what I was expecting), I ended up buying over 20 ROC figures today.

I like how some of you guys piss your pants every time someone openly admits they don't like the RoC toys and then explains why. It doesn't matter if their reasons make sense to you, they make sense to them. I'm gonna start claiming I don't like RoC toys because they remind me of those sad, sad Pound Puppy Commericals from when I was a kid.

How would you be comparing to an actor? You're comparing 2 fictional characters.
You wouldn't be comparing ARAH Duke to Chaning Tatum, you'd be comparing ARAH Duke (cartoon, comic, figure, etc..) to RoC Duke (movie, figure, comic, etc..).
That statement just makes no sense whatsoever.
25th was a stagnant line, there's no growth, no new blood buying. Eventually (sooner rather then later) it would have dried up and died off.
RoC was coming regardless of what happened with the 25th line. Why on earth would the retailers say "nevermind with the movie tie-in stuff, keep the stuff that barely sells coming"
My local Target has 5-6x times as many pegs and 3-4x as much shelf space for RoC then it ever did for 25th/ME stuff.

Tyronos makes an excellent point. But I think Trip-weezy is arguing that that movie was a bad idea to begin with. Still, the movie was coming out and stores began not ordering figures and so ... we will get the figures eventually but in the movie line. So, if you ever want to get a single carded Low-Light, it will most likely be with movie packaging. Same with a Night Force Lt. Falcon, etc. Blame the stores, not Hasbro, on this one.

Anyways, I love the ROC figures! They seem remarkably adult oriented with their dark colors and ominous designs (neo-viper). CC even has a mutilated burned face that would've given me nightmares as a kid. I just wish the spring-loaded weapons were built more to scale.
Have to trade:
-MIB Twin Cannon
-MIB Desert Ram
-POC Low Light
-POC Destro (v27)
-POC Shadow Tracker
-POC Snake Eyes (v54)
-25th Red Ninjas
-25th Ninja Vipers
I don't care if the figures are loose or even incomplete :-)

It is a change, and most of the figures are really good and with trailer #5 (the new visual scenes) I am starting to accept it for what it is and i have been a die hard "h8er" for some time. It is just it's own universe and will be short lived as the rest since 1991and will be gone a few weeks after it's release and be one of those "bumps" in the long road of getting better.
The retailers do want this product as they feel it is just like Terminator (that sis not selling), Star Trek (which is not selling), Star Wars which sells even if there is no movie ever again), and Transfomers (which is not selling or they just pack the shelevs every single night till the shit fall sall over the floor in most stores). I agree the retailers make Hasbro thier money but the retailers ideals as to what product to carry and when are totally screwed up (all the other movie toy lines as stated for example). All of the toy lines take up display space and we are at the hands of the stupid retailers on when they restock or order more product.
This is why I think Hasbro needs to re-try DTC with 25th/modern toys, comic packs and vehicles. They can also add Resolute to DTC and fine tune it for us collectors. Let retail suffer the consequnces of failed movie toys, but give us our redone and glorious Joes online. I would be 100% fine with that as long as they made enough throguh pre-order opportunities and conitnue evolving and creating newer dimensions beyond the single minded view of ROC. Just do not want ROC taking over every figure from now on.
And that Walmart 2pk Monkeywrench is a HUGE pass, anyone even non-customers can kitbash a better one easily...
