What you did was not dishonest. Nothing wrong with getting a price adjustment.
That sucks about the repack. What is wrong with people?! |

I slept on it, and I got more to say-
The Repacking phenomenon fascinates me, especially how angry it makes folks. People, lots of people in these threads talking about committing all kinds of violence on petty thieves. I mentioned this on another thread, the only thing a repacker has ever done to me, is buying something before I could buy it, that's all. What difference does it make if the guy repacks it and returns it, or keeps it , or sells it on ebay for some jacked up prices? I love me some Gi. Joe, and I scoured every Target, Meijer, Toys r Us, K Mart, and Walmart (I friggin hate walmart) when the 25th figures came out a couple years ago. However, I never found any EEL's, Target HISS Tanks (as I mentioned earlier), or the Serpentor & Best of DVD sets. Also, All my hunting only yielded 2 B.A.T.S. Who is to blame for this? Not Repackers. Is it Hasbro for not making enough? Greedy Troop Builders? Who cares? I'll buy them on ebay someday, life goes on. I'm a greedy Troop Builder by the way. Repacking is a crime, and it is wrong, what Scoop did is not a crime. However, a Repacker buys something with the intention of returning a portion of it to get his $ back, Scoop buys something in the hopes he can get his $ back if it goes on sale. As we all know some of this stuff is hard to come by, and if you're buying up stuff you really can't afford so you can return, it's kind of a dick move. Let me be clear, repacking = dick move, Scoop's actions="kind of" a dick move. I don't hate Repackers, I certianly have no beef with Scoop, who operates within the law, whereas Repackers don't. I just have to get to the store before they do. |

I don't hate Repackers, I certianly have no beef with Scoop, who operates within the law, whereas Repackers don't. I just have to get to the store before they do. I don't hold onto items and then return them if the price never drops. If I couldn't afford it I wouldn't buy it in the first place. Why would I buy something just to hold onto it and then return it to get my money back if I never wanted the item in the first place. I'm not hoarding toys like an ebay scalper. What I do is I buy something that I want, which I plan on keeping no matter what the price is. I then save all of my receipts just incase the price changes. If the price does happen to drop I will buy a the same item again for a second time and return it with my first receipt. The item goes right back to the store and I still only have one at home. If the price never drops I still keep my item. This only works if the store still has that particular item in stock. If everystore is sold out I just simply keep the first one I bought and live with the price I originally paid. All I am saying here is that if I can end up paying $6 for a toy that originially sold for $24 then I have to be a fool not to take advantage of that, just as long as I'm obeying the law in the process. Just think about what else you could buy with the money you just saved. It all eventually goes right back into the registers anyways. If there is one jet left at Target for $6 and I buy it, then I imediately return it with my $24 receipt, there will still be one $6 jet left at that Target. It's like it never left the store. What you have to understand here is that I'm basically getting a "price adjustment". It's just like if you buy something today for $12 and tomorrow it's on sale for $6. All you have to do is bring in your receipt and the store will give you $6 back. Now you have really only paid $6 for that item. Target doesn't do price adjustments of clearance items, but they let you return any item for up to 90 days after the day of sale. With that said I don't see it as a "dickmove" to return something in the 90 day window and then purchase another one for the cheaper price. Once again I don't have any beef with Beckley as well and I commend him for speaking his mind even though I don't fully agree with him. We can agree to disagree on this matter. That's what this site is all about. We can all argue in peace and still be friends at the end of the day. The only thing that gets me is that there are people out there who post pics of their hauls in which they purchased multiple items of the same type at the lowest price possible. I would like to be as lucky and get the lowest price as well, only I just want one of everything. I know life isn't fair and all, but it really sucks to hear that someone paid 75% less for an item than you did. I know I sometimes hate seeing that myself. If one person got something for that cheap then I feel that everyone should have had that same chance as well. It isn't fair that they got lucky and you didn't. I think that's what this all really boils down to. Don't you just wish that everything was at clearance prices in the first place? It sure would do away with peg warmers...LOL!

That was my argument against these types of boxes too. At least with the window you have the opportunity to see if it is what you want or a repack.

"Thou shalt not repack kids toys" was supposed to be the 11th commandment but they only had room on the tablets for 10. I wonder if that means we all get a free pass to repack.

I had purchased a Python Conquest at Target when they were 50% off. They still had pleanty of them at this time so I made sure that I got a nice box that didn't look tampered with. I didn't open the box right away because I will be moving into a new place soon. As of right now I just buy things and place them in storage.
When the Target clearance reached 75% off I decided to pick up another one at that price and return it using my 50% receipt. I searched many Targets but I only found one left. The box was opened and someone had stolen the stickers and instructions. I figured that it didn't matter because I planned on returning it anyway. Before I was going to return anything I figured that I would open up the first one to see if anything was missing. When opened the box to my dismay I found out that I was now in possession of a repack. If you look at my pics you will see that someone took the Python Conquest along with instructions, sticker sheet, and all of the parts, and replaced it with what looks like a repainted 1986 ARAH Conquest X-30. The only reason that I think it's an original is because the stickers on it look like they are yellowed and cracking. The whole jet is dusty and dirty as well. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? Should I just tape the box back up and return it without saying anything to Target? I don't want them to think that I did it. I also don't want them to tell me that I have to take it up with Hasbro myself. I really hope that I could find another one of these soon before they are all gone because I still need a sticker sheet and instructions. I opened up my Tiger Rat as well and all seems fine. I hope that no one else has run into a problem like this. Open up your jets and take a look before it's too late. |
