I have been slowly completing some of my vintage Joe sets and have been eyeing the 25th Ann. Joe figures. At the time, I didn't want to get into collecting another series of figures, but it is starting to appeal to me. I looked at all the online stuff for sale and I am overwhelmed at the number of figures and variations. Which ones to get? They also seem pricey now. Not sure if it is the season. So now I am thinking of waiting till the Snake Eyes movie hits to see what pops in the toy line. What do you think new figures will cost then? Will $15 be the new normal?

Given that it costs the same to tool a 1/12(6") figure as a 1/18 figure, it will probably cost $20-23 by 2020. Same as a 1/12 Marvel Legends figure.

When I was actively collecting 25th series I decided not to be a completist but sought out what I thought as the best of each character. Guns-Ho for example was in a comic two pack, a carded 25th and Walmart exclusive two pack on a ROC card. I thought the ROC was best so I bought it.

Yeah, what cardensb said. I went on Yojoe.com and clicked on each figure and at the bottom of the page is the list of each variation of that figure. I then went through each of the 25th -50th versions and picked the one that looked the best.

I got a bunch of extra 25th on the card, and I sell cheaper than eBay.

Cardensb and Drfaireborn are exactly right. I started collecting 25th this time last year and for the most part stuck to just getting what I thought was the ideal look or appearance of the character. You can go through the yojoe lists and look like Drfaireborn said and see which you like best. Once you have your ideal versions, you can then see if you'd like to have the variations. Personally, I found that it was cheaper in the long run to just go ahead and buy the multi-packs even if it came with one figure I really needed and a variant I didn't really want since it would mean no hunting down if I started collecting everything. Just use your judgement and take your time and most importantly have fun with it.
