Hold it, what to you mean if you wife allowed you to display them? What right does she have to tell you what you can and cannot do with your collection?
Granted, I am in the same boat as you with having too much, but mine is more for Transformers, as I have 2 walls of nothing but Transformers, so I need to get some, but my Joe stuff is pretty much still on one wall, and since the figures are smaller, it is easier to fit a lot more on one shelf.

If your Target has them for 6.99 and you paid 7.99 just take your receipt to customer service. Tell them you want a price adjustment. Very easy guys and they will do it, usually no questions asked and you do not have to have the product.

Some Targets in my area have this:
I've bought ROC figures at the same Target 3 times since they came out Sunday. I only found 1 reciept (It was when I only bought 1 figure :( ) All that said, I was in the next town over when I decided to ask about price adjustments, the lady there said she could do the one for the reciept I had, but not the other, so I walked out with $1.07 in cash (Even though I paid with a debit card) I got back to my town and went to the Target where I bought all these figures. They were able to search all the computers just with my debit card and find the two transactions where I bought figures. Now, they weren't able to do the price adjustment with these (Apparently transaction #'s and reciept #'s are different) but they were able to do a full refund back on to my card, then charge me for the same number of figures at the new price. So I walked out of there with $6.41 put back on my card while not having a reciept or the figures themselves, just with my debit card |
