Marauder makes an exact duplicate of the GI Joe rifle (I bought 5 or so of them). It is very well done. I'm currently displaying a Lady Jaye, Duke, and Gung Ho using them. I'd like to phase out the Dragunov rifles on my troopers, but I don't think I'll ever cobble together enough of them. And it's too expensive to buy Disguised Flints and Paratroopers just for their gun.

I’m surprised Marauders didn’t mention that they’re launching a huge WWII line next year. Surely that will come with a grease gun at some point...which IMO isn’t 100% the right design, but it’s a common substitute and a better point of comparison than any AK.
(Although I’m on team AK for Cobras for other reasons...) |

I'm just surprised he doesn't cast and make the laser directly (like the Joe rifle). I have to think there would be as much demand for it as some of the other weapons.
The grease gun is a better substitute than anything else, but it's a long way off.

The Joe rifle on his site is not a cast of the Hasbro one, it's his own design.

I'd love to see his own take on the Sunbow Cobra gun then. Because his Joe rifle is amazing (and I'll have to look at the differences between it and the rifle that comes with 50th Alpine).

These are not really on display properly, but here are my Marauder-assisted figures, including a Jinx and Zarana stand-in.
I also did create two "greenshirts" using Marauder parts (the vests are almost impossible to get on, by the way). The ROC Cover Girl body is great for support personnel. I also think the Valkryie head is a fantastic Lady Jaye (although you have to paint the skin to match). I'll have to figure out how to display this group at some point.

The Joe rifle from Hasbro is somewhat different. The Hasbro rifle is much longer (which is weird because Marauder guns usually run bigger than Hasbro guns). All in all, the Hasbro is actually nicer (I'm shocked to be saying that), but the MGR is quite good. I wish he would do his own version of the Cobra gun, and actually make it smaller (the Hasbro version is too big). Here is a picture.

That's awesome man. After seeing the modern vs vintage comparison thread I might follow in your footsteps and start collecting GI JOE again. Like you I am also overwhelmed about which line/series is which.
Right now I just collect Masterpiece Transformers and 3rd Party in that scale. |

Cg Steve I'd track down the 50th snake eyes and stormshadow two pack from 2016. Two great versions of two classic characters
