I just rebooted my collection (this is the third time, after my divorce sale a few years ago), and for the first time since the 25th began, there is an odd hole in my collection: I don’t have a Wild Bill LoL. I will get him eventually, but it’s a weird feeling considering how many versions were made of him in the modern era. I usually have about 3 or 4 by now!!! Just goes to show how things change LoL. Used to have the single carded version on my shelf, the comic Pack version co-piloting my Tomahawk with Lift Ticket, the Tiger Force version piloting the Tiger Rat, the SRO version flying my Night Attack Chopper, and the ROC version flying the Dragonhawk. Now... he’s not here, yet. Ironically, I only have one Snake Eyes and one Duke as well right now. Can you tell I’m just getting my feet wet?

I'd forgotten just how many Wild Bill figures there have been.

That's definitely one figure that could use an update; I think they were all pretty much repaints of the original 25th anniversary version.

I’m really happy with the 25th versions in most cases. Wild Bill is no exception... it was a great, albeit overused, sculpt. I’m just shocked I don’t have him yet. Collectors used to see him in their sleep!

It used to be an inside joke on the ‘Tank when we wanted a figure to come out. It would be like, “Yeah, they’ll put him out in a comic pack with Wild Bill.”

It’s an accurate figure but I always felt that the head was too small.

I am a completionist, or extremely close to it. I have every retail figure from every line from the 25th up to the 50th, and everything in between. I have every Con set, and extras, and 2 packs, and 3 packs, every FSS club figure, every membership club fig, you name it, i got it, lol.
Now with that being said, amazingly i have NO wild Bill figures, none at all. I believe, if i am correct, Wild Bill is the only figure that i do not have out of ALL of the Modern collection available. Not only do i have every other figure, but i have every version of each figure available, but not one Wild Bill. I guess i just dont like him as a figure, or character. I cant even fully explain WHY i dont have a desire to get him, especially knowing how much of a completionsist i am. Very strange. |
