I didn’t think I’d find one again, but I bought a Target exclusive Ultimate Battle Pack at Rebel Base Comics and Toys today. I know some people turn their nose up at 25th stuff now after all the wonderful POC, 30th and 50th product we were blessed with, but this set is still one of the awesomest sets G.I. Joe has ever seen. Think about it... Cobra Commander & his Trouble Bubble, Destro, Stalker with a JUMP jet pack w/attached gun, the long awaited Short Fuze figure (using Doc’s head for that was an awesome idea... thought I’d hate it until I saw it. Who’d have thought it?), and at the center of it all... a Crimson Hiss Tank battling a Mobat! The presentation in the box is a site to see in itself... and the contents are stellar. What an awesome set! In my opinion, one of the most underrated G.I. Joe offerings ever. Grateful I was able to get it again... and won’t part with it again.
And a plug: if you are anywhere near the Charlotte, NC area, check out Rebel Base Comics and Toys. Great selection, and extremely reasonable prices. You won’t regret it! Back to the UBP. Who else loves this forgotten piece of Joe goodness? |

I totally regret not buying one of those back in the day, but I was not very excited at starting a new vehicle collection at the time, and I didn't really have space to put it anyways...I still should have bought it, though. I'd love to have one now.

I think the set was good except it was lazy for Steeler not to get a helmet and visor, and the closed fist CC is a bit of a letdown.

I agree, its an excellent set. I still have one MIB, plus a set i opened a few years ago.
Blayze5150 what did you wind up paying for the set, if you dont mind me asking? Did you get a good deal for it? Honestly though, finding it for sale anywhere, other than ebay at least, is a deal within itself. |

Very nice set. I wish I had many of the 25th vehicles still MIB from the 25th. They really had a nice presentation.

I bought it at a Target, if I remember correctly it retailed for $59.99 originally. I few months later it went on discount all the way to $16.97. I bought the last one they had at that price and gave it to my nephew. I could not be believe that such a nice set had to be discounted so deep. The same thing happen with the Past and Present Polar Battle Bear, and the Target RHINO, the last ones I bought at $4.98 and $7.90, respectively.

Love this set! I too bought one and opened it. I then got another one and still have it mint in box. Something about the simplicity of the layout and design, harkens back to GI Joe as a kid! My boys had to have it when they saw it in the store and there was no way I could say no, cause I wanted it too. I too am curious about what you paid?

I agree. This is one of the best sets we have ever got for Gi joe. In the box it looks like it should be a Retail display set up. I kept mine in unopened for about ten years or so until something fell on it destroying the clear plastic. Yes the figures are now dated but I think over all it still holds up as being one of the best purchases of the 25th/ME era.
