I've never attended a JoeCon (my loss, I know), but I've recently been made aware of the fact that they give out GI Joe Vs. Cobra comic books that basically tell the theme story of whatever the box set is (Nocturnal Fire, Mission Brazil II, etc) and I was wondering if these comics were any good? How many pages are they, is the art decent, are the stories geared more for adults or kids, and so on?
I'm considering grabbing a few off of ebay (unless someone here has some copies and wants to do a deal), but I wanted the opinions of the fine, upstanding individuals of the HissTank community first. Are the FunPub comics worth picking up?

I like them but they are pretty much the same as the club comics. I think they have a few more pages but I haven't read one since last year lol. I tend to read them and then put them in the box with the figures and forget about them. I think I may only be missing the 2011 comic because I didn't attend that year and I don't remember if I picked it up after or not. I would say get them only if you can get them for cheap as I don't think they are worth all that much.

The stories are ok, more for a young adult older teen audience and they give you an idea of the thought process that went into the sets and extras. There are two different versions of each, a convention version and a diamond version. Each has the story, but the con one will have the itenery, list of guests, FAQ's and the diamond one usually has a few dosseries on some of the con figures, like the GI Joe order of battle comics.

I really like them. The art is usually really good and for a 1-shot issue the plots/stories are usually pretty good. They basically force-fit all of the figures and exclusives from that year into a single issue, and it usually works well enough and makes me appreciate the convention theme more.
You can also order almost all of them from the Club right now, so other than a few they're super-easy to get: https://www.toyarama.com/store/2017-...1-pc-p1612.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2016-...1-pc-p1564.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2015-...1-pc-p1372.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2014-...1-pc-p1135.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2013-...-1-pc-p440.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2011-...-1-pc-p298.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2010-...-1-pc-p315.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2009-...-1-pc-p316.php https://www.toyarama.com/store/2008-...-1-pc-p309.php

Too bad they never finished the Tiger Force Joecon comic. I remember they said way back when that they were going to release a "second chapter" to that comic, but alas it never seemed to have happened.
