So I decided to add a couple of McFarlane NBA figures to my collection. Being a Piston's die hard fan, I got Thomas and Dumars from the Bad Boys era and Chauncey and Ben from the Go To Work team. All of these figures are awesome in their details, and aside from Dumars, these figures all have pretty accurate face sculpts. That got me thinking...
McFarlane actually worked on the Joe comic for a bit, so he has some ties to the brand. Not that it would happen, but it would be pretty sweet if a company like McFarlane were able to do some inexpensive figures with Joe since the brand is in a lull right now. They could even do sub-team variants, like they currently do different colored jersey variants... I could see a first wave of something like 1) Battle Helmet Cobra Commander (with hooded variant) 2) Major Bludd 3) Roadblock (with TF Variant) 4) Snake Eyes 5) B.A.T 6) Falcon (with NF variant) I went with 6 characters, 3 Joes and 3 Cobras, (each from a different year). I also thought half the figures should be figures with easy repaint variants..

I think this is a great idea and would love to see this. I think your first wave of six would be awesome. I know there would be some claims for Firefly to be in there too but there always wave 2, haha.

I was trying to hit six different years and needed a character with an easy repaint variant in 1984. Plus, you'd want good characters in each wave...

Now we’re talking three waves and no Firefly, I don’t know about this, haha. I’m positive that no matter the figure McFarlane would do an outstanding job. I would buy all of these in a heartbeat and they would be awesome to display.

Here is a comparison of the art from the issue of G.I. Joe that McFarlane drew but which was rejected for publication and redrawn by someone else until it was finally released almost a decade later.
