Thanks Mr. Hebime. That looks good. Yours looks good too Nighthawk. Either way or Turtle Masters Firefly helmet means they could replace the Blowtorch chest plate.

Wonder if the airtight torso would work. Then they can use the Firefly helmet and have a hose connected like Dragonsky.

Now that is actually a good head choice.

The real problem with Fast Draw is the same problem with most Club Figures: its just uninspired. They take the absolute easiest way out most times. In 3 minutes of surfing the web I came across 3 or 4 better builds on Fast Draw. Its not that hard.
For example: Unused Pilot Firefly And Clutch Mockups - HissTank.com That Clutch Sculpt would be perfect. Or that helmet. Last edited by captain mal; 04-14-2018 at 01:05 AM.. |

Defend the clubs continuation of the line all you want, but there are two ways to do things: the right way, or again. FSS is categorized right alongside Funskool Joes for me. Liscensed repaints on the outer fringe of the actual line. This is in the same spectrum as third party TF. Some are great, but they are not Transformers. FSS, will always be knock-offs of the real thing.

Heh. I was with you until the unfit comparison to third-party TFs. If you haven't noticed that some of them have surpassed the best Takara (when they even bother to do G1 MPs anymore) can offer, you haven't been paying attention for at least a couple years. The Club is nothing like 3P TFs. To be a valid comparison, 3P TFs would have to do a bunch of characters nobody asked for, fail to deliver the missing G1 MPs that Takara hasn't done, have extensive parts re-use across products, and often release products that look phoned-in rather than objects of brand affection. None of those are the case. Takara is more like the Club at this point, if we're honest. Releasing a bunch of cheap toys in other lines, delivering almost no G1 MPs anymore, releasing figures from later series in the MP line that collectors hadn't asked for, and showing very little love for the G1 IP or dedicated to completing even the Ark Crew, let alone the character list from the early seasons of the cartoon.

To me there are several problems with the FSS Fast Draw:
1. The helmet 2. Blowtorch armor 3. IG leg armor. I think a better, easier build would be: 1. Dragonsky/Firefly helmet 2. Iron Grenadier upper body & arms 3. Night Viper Legs 4. Retaliation Cobra Trooper web gear 5. Jungle Hawk backpack missile launcher Here is a quick mock-up sans backpack. Jason Last edited by jlw515; 07-02-2021 at 08:40 AM.. |
