And to think, that's just .25 cents more then what I payed for the original EEL figure back in the day. Finding that really would make me feel like a kid again... For a bit.

HEY, thats mine!! I dropped that there a few weeks ago, wtf.
Seriously though, nice score dude! Its always fun to find stuff like that, especially when its the furthest thing you ever thought you find on the shelves that day. |

My question would be how many 50th Joe stuff TRU has lying around, unnoticed and hasn't shipped to the stores to be liquidated? Or after their closure what happens to those figures and vehicles? TJ Maxx and Marshalls? Ollies?

I have a lot of memories of scouring Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Burlington for random 25th and ROC toys. Got a lot of cool stuff that way -- if 50th stuff ends up liquidated in the same way, the hunt will be back on once again!

March 2020 is right around the corner, right?
Seriously, its sad that Hasbro is sticking by their guns with the idea that Joes didn't sell well, therefore, they won't devote anymore time + resources to support it for retail. Almost everywhere I went would easily sell out of figures after that Rise of Cobra "misstep" of 2009. Kinda sucks that retailers lost faith and no longer were interested in carrying the line because of that, however clearance aisles were always crammed with Star Wars and Transformers merchandise so I don't get it.

I went into a Big Lots a few years ago and they had a shelf full of Rise of Cobra MARS 3-packs. Those figures sucked, man.

Man. I keep seeing this thread commented on and it keeps getting my hopes up that someone found Joes at TRU.

So, you guys are going to think I'm completely full of crap. I returned to Big Lots, on 07/07/18, because it was their big quarterly sale again. Much to my disbelief, I found ANOTHER 25th Anniversary Cobra Eel figure. This time the package is in much better condition. Once, again, it was the only GI Joe in the entire toy section. As if finding a 10 year old Joe for sale at retail isn't rare enough, but to find two, on two separate outings, at the same store? There must be some sort of small time portal in the back that these things keep slipping through.
