Never say never.
The Club may be able to squeeze one more FSS in. Hasbro may elect to sponsor a new Club when this one ends. Hasbro may opt for its own internal Joe team to start prepping for the future movie by releasing some additional modern era figures to get people interested in the physical products before the new movie products drop. Hasbro may try a crowd-funded approach to deliver more modern era ARAH-vintage Joe figures to the collector fanbase. |

I'm still hoping that the convention may see the announcement of another year added to the club's licence. The fact that FSS 7 and the con set were the ultimate of mailed in effort, and suddenly FSS 8 is probably the best one ever suggests they may have gotten a new lease on life they haven't announced yet.

That does seem like a good point Lifeline_MD. Maybe there's something to that.
I don't want to see the club go away, but I could see an absorption of the Club, so Hasbro can crank out troop builders and Subscription services on their own. Which are essentially just repaints with a few body part swaps.

All of our lists, all along, had a touch of impossibility to it. Everyone that requested a Sgt. Slaughter or Golobulus knew it probably wasn’t going to happen. Still, the club has managed to deliver its’ share of surprises, like Pythona & Billy. It may seem futile, but just because Funpub is closing shop, doesn’t mean there’s no demand for future product. We know people from Hasbro read these boards, they just don’t chime in; while actively working with Hasbro. So, why not? You never know who may see your suggestions.

No one said Ninja Force Zartan. I don't have any FSS figures due to cost, but he'd be nice to see.

IIRC, they can't make Dress Blues Gung-Ho, because the USMC owns the rights to the uniform and it's outside the club's budget.
1. Big Brawler (Funskool) 2. Red Jackal (Destro repaint) 3. Metal-Head (Funskool) 4. Rock'n Roll (Super Sonic Fighters) 5. Sub-Zero (Arctic team mail-in) 6. Roadpig (Super Sonic FIghters) 7. Falcon (Super Sonic Fighters) 8. Black Major (General Iron Bear repaint) 9. Cobra Viper (Sonic Fighters) 10. Psyche-Out (Tiger Force) 11. Zartan (Ninja Force, uses Slammer head) 12. Big Bear (International Action Force mail in) 13. Rapid Fire |

What I would want for FSS 9:
1. General Flagg (the father) 2. Golobulus (yeah, yeah, I know, I know) 3. Overlord 4. Fridge (yeah, I know Pt.2) 5. Chameleon (IDW style) 6. Headman 7. Col Courage 8. Overkill v1 9. Super Trooper 10. Sgt Savage 11. Sparks 12. Stretcher 13. Soft Master And then for FSS 10: 1. Mayday 2. Downtown 3. Gristle 4. Backblast 5. Robo Joe 6. Baizai 7. Vapor 8. Tracker 9. Dogfight 10. Countdown 11. Lightfoot 12. Wildcard 13. Steam Roller And then for FSS 11..... ;)

They really need to wrap up the missing pre-'93 figures before doing the random stuff that came later that a lot of us don't have any affinity for or nostalgic connection to. And so much of it was phoned-in parts bin rehashes, there's much less appeal to it.
Sounds suspect. At least in the past, the military was generally fine with having their likeness used in positive presentations (like G.I. Joe) and would not charge for it. It's possible that may vary by industry or something has changed in recent years. In the time I was familiar with (through a different industry than toymaking), they were more concerned with protecting the use for reasons of appearance and reputation. Something small-time like charging a tiny licensing fee for a toymaker using a likeness in a positive way seems unnecessary when they operate in the land of multi-billion-dollar defense contractors, but if they had to charge a token fee in order to retain their ability to control their IP elsewhere, it would be just that - a token fee not a ransom.
