Fanboys: We want ALL figures from the 80's! Hasbro: Okay done! Anything else? Fanboys: Can you remake Joe's 1, 4, 7 and 15? Hasbro: Sure! Anything else? Fanboys: Sky Striker? Hasbro: How about a US Flagg that comes with two Sky Strikers? Fanboys: SWEET JESUS!!! Can we get the vintage packaging for single cards and vehicles? Hasbro: Next wave of both will have the vintage style packaging you like! Will that be all? Fanboys: Can you redo the 25th Anniversary with o-rings? Hasbro: How about o-rings AND the traditional back screw? Fanboys: AWESOME!!! Can we have the original G.I Joe HQ and Terror Drome? Hasbro: Original size or bigger? Fanboys: Bigger... no wait, ummm... you decide! Hasbro: Anything else? Fanboys: Mail-in figures... Sgt. Slaughter... sub-groups like Night Force and Battle Force 2000? Hasbro: What about the future? What about the kids? What about Bob? Fanboys: HAH! G.I. Joe was never meant to evolve nor entertain anyone other than those that followed the franchise in the 80's! Listen Hasbro... in another 20 years we won't mind if you revamp G.I. Joe but for now we also need you to bring back the Space Shuttle Defiant, Mauler and let's start making a 'REAL' G.I. Joe movie starting with the Original 13! Hasbro: You people are INSATIABLE!!! Fanboys: If you make anything outside the 80's it will fail... FAIL!!! And when your kids grow up we're going to tell them and they won't RESPECT you! Last edited by Mr. Focus; 07-05-2009 at 09:49 PM.. |

Well I don't have pics (yet) but I picked up the Shipwreck, Baroness, and Snake Eyes today at my local Target.
I have to say that I am/was also a hater of pretty much all ROC except, and this is kind of weird, the new Shipwreck figure. I liked that figure from the first time they showed it. I think he was due for an update. Regarding ol' Ships, the figure is EXCELLENT and I HIGHLY recommend him. The accessories he comes with, down to the paint app are all great IMO. Finally swim flippers that aren't like the other water Joes/Cobras and that strap onto his feet. Very cool, and they should have done this with all the updated Joes that came with flippers. The Baroness I wasn't hot on earlier but she looks much better in person. The paint apps on these figures blew me away for the most part and they are really well done. I haven't opened her yet but I do plan on it as I'm still not down with the ROC packaging. Lastly the SE, well I'm still mixed. Pretty cool overall but from what I'm reading/seeing everyone really likes the Paris Pursuit SE and I'm kind of holding out for the Target 4 pack SE overall. I think the biggest surprise for me (although I didn't pick one up,...yet) was the Mole Pod. Very well done and the Croc repainted figure looks crazy good. I'm not the biggest collector like some of you are and I'm really picky about what I spend my cash on as I don't want to go overboard. It was AWESOME to see Joe stuff finally on the shelves though, even if there was some of it I couldn't believe got made (I'm looking at you shi**y HD and MW Ripcord figures). Even the Night Raven looked pretty cool, not $40 cool since I could put that towards purchasing a vintage one, but cool. NSA, I appreciate the reviews you are doing, keep it up. I now am going to keep an eye out for that Elite Viper and Flash. BTW, did you get an Ice Viper (?)? Pretty interested to hear what you think about those if you did. Good huntin' for the coming weeks to all! |

I passed up a chunk of Ice Vipers today at Target. I had a couple in my hand and thought "Do I really need these?" and said no. I have some unopened Snow Serpents already and since I live in Southern CA, Snow dio's are not very common I'm trying to keep everything somewhat desert/temperate based (another reason I dont like the joe-blue-camo).
But now I might get one just to do a little review. I am going to open up Helix/Hawk/Crimson Neo-Viper tonight to take some more pics. And Mr. Focus, yes, let me recite a poem for you for our mutual love: Code:

I'm in the minority here, but I really like the ubiquitous blue camo theme that permeates throughout the Joes.
You can put Hawk, Covert Ops Scarlett, Cover Girl, Sgt. Stone, Shipwreck, Breaker, Deep Six, Heavy Duty, and PIT Commando together, and they LOOK like a team. So far, the most underrated figure for me, and I know I am in the big-time minority again, is Zartan. Forget the Zartan head (which is a perfect likeness of Arnold Vosloo) for a minute; the replacement "Generic Joe MP head" is great! Just use the figure as a generic Joe MP, and when combined with the PIT Commando, gives you instant support staff for The PIT. So be grateful for blue camo, because it could very easily have been neon or tiger stripes or something else equally ostentatious. |

NSA I got my Ice Viper today. Along with that figure I found the Paris Pursuit SE and a TRU Firefly.
All these figures are great and hopefully if I get some free time tonight I will post pics. I'm behind though as I only have Shipwreck open out of the 6 ROC figures I have picked up. I was interested in that Ice Viper before it came out but once I saw it on the shelf it was an instant purchase. I can understand what you said about your theme, absolutely, but man that Viper is a great figure. I really have to say the PP SE is excellent too. The head mold on that figure is the one they should have used for the regular one. From what I understand the PP SE head is what's going on the Target exclusive 4 pack RES SE. So now that is an absolute purchase, probably sell the other figs in it. The Firefly is great but I mostly got it for the RES look and the backpack. That might sound kind of funny but I still really like the Firefly from the SS/Firefly comic pack and the gear he came with for that is getting passed around to all his versions now. I don't care for his gun 100% or the green goggles either. Man I sound like I hate this figure, haha. ANYWAYS, I wanted to see if I could use the goggles on the upcoming Monkeywrench to give him some kind of shades. Anyways,....I'll try to get some pics up later if I get some time. |

I like Flash and Firefly. Those two look great. I am wondering if I should get them now or wait for clearance. When the 25th line was out I never found one store that had a good selection - ever. ToysRus and Target were ok, but they were always stocked to a minimum. At best there were 4 boxed vehicles and 10 figures at a time. I imagine these movie figures will be released all over the place and in greater numbers. BBTS has a bunch up there as singles and in sets as well as sealed cases. They are still too spendy for me. After seeing the recent sale on sealed cases of 25th figures from BBTS, I think I can wait on these movie figures too.

I'm not going to complain about what "might have been", I only complain about what I was given, and it was a color scheme that doesn't make sense And really I'm not complaining about it, I don't HAVE to buy the figures (and I haven't), I just don't like the colors and mention it when it comes up Quote:

The most disappoint I've had with the group of figures I bought is the Viper Commando, i.e. purple ranger.
He's got flexible shoulder pads inhibiting his shoulder articulation and I can't keep his backpack on him. |
